bbhusker
Chip will use Taylor as an offensive weapon, no chance he plays DB. Ball security is the biggest issue. NFL defenders will surely test Taylor's ability to hold onto the ball. Quote Link to comment
Ed Helms
I find it interesting that he signed a 3 year deal (if Casey Martinez is telling the truth). Maybe they want him as a practice squad guy and see if they can work on some QB stuff (mechanics) with him for a couple of years. Either way a Chip Kelly offense seems like the best possible fit for him. Quote Link to comment

Either way a Chip Kelly offense seems like the best possible fit for him. I'm sure none of it is guaranteed. He'll go to camp and if it doesn't work they cut him and owe him (basically) nothing. If they find a spot for him, they have him locked up for awhile. Quote Link to comment
Abdullah the Butcher
The league source said the Eagles plan to work Martinez in as either a defensive back or wide receiver, but he won’t get reps at quarterback. http://www.csnphilly.com/football-philadelphia-eagles/source-eagles-agree-terms-taylor-martinez Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Sean Callahan @Sean_Callahan 2h Martinez had his pick of three different NFL team in negotiations. He settled with the Eagles a couple hours ago. #Huskers Quote Link to comment

HuskerNationNick
Will Taylor play in the NFL? None of this know this answer, because it is all on Taylor. Its up to him on how hard he wants to work, and how willing he is to play other positions. What we do know, Taylor has stated that he doesn't care what or where he plays, he is an "athlete" and is open for whatever. Now, do I think he can play in the NFL? Hell yes I do. This kid may not play QB, but he has the quickness, build and work ethic to play RB, PR/KR, S, and WR. He will find his way to make the roster with the Eagles. Chip's offense fits extremely well with Taylor's strong suits. Best of luck to him too, I know I will be rooting for this kid. He deserves it. 1 Quote Link to comment
Enhance
He's got a tough road ahead of him, obviously, given he spent so much time playing QB in college. But, he's got a shot. I'd be very surprised to see him play significant time or a significant role in the NFL, but if he sticks at it and works hard, you never know. Best of luck to him. Quote Link to comment

knapplc
If Kelly can find a niche use for him he'll be a good addition to the Iggles. It's all about how he meshes into Kelly's offense. Quote Link to comment
ZRod
Long live the legend of T-Magic! Taylor Martinez: A Tribute How do I not remember 1:56 on that video? Even though it's SDSU it's still pretty comical and awesome. Quote Link to comment
PlanetScott
His best chance is to make the practice squad and develop other skills that is not QB. Quote Link to comment
teachercd
Honestly...he needs to break 2-3 big plays...if he does that in pre-season games...he will make the team. It is hard to cut guys that can make big plays. Quote Link to comment
