If it had only happened once or twice, then it'd be an oddity. But, by deedsker's count, it happened at least 6 times including a fumble. In a 5 point game, that's enough to have caused the loss. MSU might have beaten the Huskers without clapgate, but we'll never know.

We obviously have a tactic that got easily exposed. After we got it figured out we out scored them 19-0. Please point out the Polo side of things here.

 

We also scored 19 points when we started chucking the ball all over the field and their defense let up. Did it hurt us, sure. Is Dantonio a douche? Absolutely. But I think the bigger issue here is that we couldn't manage 50 yds rushing and we're a running team. That's still my biggest takeaway from the game.

I thought it was odd that the center would hike on a few snaps and TA was not ready. You would think that Pelini would know the difference of a clap of gloves to TA not wearing any gloves to clapp? The best team in B1G MSU - I do not think so and the Offense was average with a NFL rated QB. Whatever!

Dantonio said Michigan State employs "different ways" to "move our front," including hand motions and clapping.

"From my perspective," Dantonio said, "we can move our people however we want."

Told of Bo Pelini's intention to discuss the clapping with the Big Ten office, Dantonio suggested that Nebraska's center ought to look at the quarterback instead of relying on him to call for the football.

Also noting how long after Tommy claps when Pelini snaps it for a quarter can help you anticipate the snap if he's, consistent with his times.

And that's the big problem. He is consistent. Very consistent.

 

So it if it's true that it's completely up to him when to snap (following the clap), a coach or player should have told him to mix it up sometime midway through the first quarter.

Well, that's what we get for having a supercomputer at center, binary responses (snap, no snap). If you want anything different, you will have to upgrade to a better model.

Again, it goes back to this--many folks don't have a problem with the outcome of the game had MSU played and won it fair and square. Problem is, MSU didn't.

 

There's ample evidence to support that MSU was cheating and it directly impacted the outcome of the game. Bo is right to take this to the B1G officials and ask WTF (in a polite, courteous fashion), and we'll know going forward we need to be cognizant of this.

This really is kind of embarrassing!! For Christ sakes, I agree with Jason Peter Quit whining and play the damn game!! Although I am starting to question whether Pelini would have listened if someone would have told DURING the game that they were throwing the count off by clapping and knowing how we use the clap count. They knew when to rush, hell I think even before our own players. Ridiculous

Here's a question. Next time we play MSU, whether its in Indy or next year. We point out the clap issue to the refs. Also if we pick up a signal on game film that MSU is actually using to change plays and how they line up. Do we use it at a cadence for a series or two for "payback" in the "gamesmanship"

If it's true.. That's simulating the snap count and is a penalty. This would also give the D-line the advantage and ruin timing and schemes for the OL... I like them bringing it up know sets the tone for this issue in a rematch..

We do not do something that is blatantly against the rules. After this has been brought o everyone's attention, if we go and do something similar and get caught, we look like total idiots.

 

Play the game the way it's supposed to. Point anything out to the refs you see and win the game.
