Husker_luver
Eh. I've always had my doubts about Gerry's ability to make tackles in open space. He takes poor angles very often. I think Pelini's D masked his (and the other secondary players') inabilities a lot. Everything is on full display with Banker's scheme. I love Gerry but this. ^^^^. His open field tackling is awful. husker07
Where's the Cockerill thread? Imo he's about the worst safety I've seen since Damion Stafford. Probably worse. 1 Quote Link to comment
onlyHskrfaninIL
He made mistakes but the effort was at least there. I think if he accepts his role he can be really good even in this defense. Quote Link to comment
Sea of Red
Led the team with 14 tackles tonight - 9 solo. 4 more than the next highest player. Added two pass breakups (team high). He hasn't played as well as I expected him to but the trashing on his is completely over the top. Word. Quote Link to comment

For his inconsistent and sometimes poor play, he's been far and away the best player in the secondary. Quote Link to comment
Swiv3D
I think we can lay to rest the conspiracy of Nate Gerry not giving full effort. Yes he still had his plays where he screwed up, but I thought that he was giving full effort and looked super hyped up every time he or teammate made a big play. I'll admit at some points during the season I questioned whether or not he was going 100%, but tonight I was impressed by how much fun it looked like he was having throughout the game and how hard he was hitting the ball carrier. 1 Quote Link to comment
gobiggergoredder
The conspiracy is a joke. I think the kid breaks on the ball so hard that he has a tendency to take himself out of position. This is most evident in the passing game where he often bites on play action and ends up chasing receivers. He's a heck of an athlete. Quote Link to comment
Red Dead Redemption
Don't you know? Gerry did it on purpose. He sabotaged his own teammates last week against Purdue. Just ask Stumpy. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/77216-aaron-williams/ smh Yes he did. Quote Link to comment

Ya idk why he's been playing basically the free. He'd be a ridiculous box/strong safety and will be in the NFL, but he lacks the fluidity and burst you want from a FS. Like everyone in this secondary, his ball skills suck hardcore, but with some good coaching that can be fixed. Quote Link to comment

Jesus TFing Christ, there's a lot wrong with the program, but accusing kids of sabotage? No...just...no. 4 Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
I still would like to see Williams get way more PT. We talk about how good he looked and then he gets ghosted. Cockrell and Gerry have been very spotty, espec Cockrell. Quote Link to comment
