I think I read it in Voices from the Grandstand or something way back when... I work with a guy who used to live next to TFraz and said this was a true story, too. I met Tommie once but didn't ask him about this. I just told him what I thought he needed to know from a Husker fan. Fru
Not really a quote, but it was a moment that's stuck with me forever. 2001. I was 12 years old and College Game Day was in town for the Notre Dame game. My dad and I rode our bikes down to Memorial Stadium to go see the Game Day crew. We were walking in and Lee Corso happened to be walking towards us with a Sherrif's escort. As Lee got closer to us he and I met eyes and he stopped and leaned down to me and said "Hey kid, how's your team gonna do today? Are they gonna kick some butt or what?" I said back to him "Yeah they are!" He laughed and gave me a high five and said "Go Big Red!" I've always appreciated Corso since then. All it took was a few seconds out of his day to make a 12 year old Husker fan feel pretty damn cool. Everybody gets their panties in a wad about the Game Day crew. They love football just like we do. Moments like that are what it's all about. 3 2 Quote Link to comment

beorach
I'm breaking the rules and sharing another. I tried and failed to find a picture of the sign that read: "We don't need no steenking QB!" LP helped make a convincing case against a good Kansas State team. Quote Link to comment

The Dude
Once I was watching football highlights on SportsCenter or something and the guy described a 3rd & like 25+ play as "3rd & Nebraska". 1 Quote Link to comment
Kelly
Came across this thread. On of my favorite and I am paraphrasing by Lee Corso as an announcer in the 90's. "If you play Nebraska, you want to play them in Lincoln. You play them there, they dress 100, you play them at your place they can only bring 54. When I coached at Indiana, I had I.M. Hipp scoring touchdowns on us in the fourth quarter. I look at Tom Osborne, he jhe could only shrug because he didn't have anyone else." 1 Quote Link to comment
knapplc
Just now, Kelly said: Came across this thread. On of my favorite and I am paraphrasing by Lee Corso as an announcer in the 90's. I've never heard that quote, but that's probably a good point by Corso. One of the reasons Nebraska scored 84 points against Minnesota in 1983 was the limited travel roster. The second string was in during the 2nd quarter, but they got tired and had to sub out. Oh, yeah! Here comes the Triplets again! For Lulz: Quote Link to comment

Old Nebraska Guy
By John Madden, doing color for a Saints game. Just after Derek Brown just "destroyed" a blitzing linebacker during pass pro' you can expect Nebraska players to do that (something like that...can't exactly remember) 1 Quote Link to comment
