skersfan
I like Tom, he is good people, but He will also take every advantage possible to win the game, every rule has a loop hole to get around and back in his day he was very good at it. I would say Coach Saben is very good at the same game. Boots on the ground in Bama most likely double what Nebraska has. Numbers is what recruiting is about. The more hunters you have the more game you get. Having 5 past head coaches on his staff as analysts is stretching the rules, but Tom was capable of doing it to. Homer Says Osborne, good friend, good man. But In a game that most on this board say is dictated by wins and losses, Saben is hands down the better coach. And keeps on ticking. I see no reason for him not to end with another 5. Quote Link to comment

Landlord
If T.O. had coached for 5 - 8 more years then his recruiting classes would likely have looked like Sabans today. Nah. Osborne: 1993 - #18 1994 - #20 1995 - #8 1996 - #6 1997 - #19 1998 - #17 Saban: 2008 - #3 2009 - #2 2010 - #5 2011 - #1 2012 - #1 2013 - #1 2014 - #1 2015 - #1 2016 - #1 2017 - #1 Saban is the better coach all-time. There's nothing wrong with that, it's reality. Luckily for Tom he didn't have to climb the ropes as a HC at no-name schools and was given the keys to the kingdom in his first gig. God, imagine if Saban had that opportunity. Yikes. Kris Brown from 47 yards-- "plenty of leg". Man, I miss having a consistent kicking game (all around). You serious? Quote Link to comment
Xmas32
Kris Brown from 47 yards-- "plenty of leg". Man, I miss having a consistent kicking game (all around). Nebraska is deficient in a lot of areas, I'm not sure the kicking/punting game is one of them. Nebraska has had a pretty good run of specialists over the past 10 years.. Tom Osbornes first gig was to turn around a barely above .500 offense. In the second and third year he won National Championships. How could anyone do better? As for climbing the ropes he started out as a volunteer getting paid in cafeteria food. He went to bat with Boyd Epley and laid his own job on the line in Devaney's office to prove that weight lifting would actually work. They basically changed the future of college football. Redux
The only downside to Clemson beating Bama tonight is that it gives Saban a reason not to go back to the NFL. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
Saben is not going back to the NFL. He is a god, at Bama. No one is happier for Dabo and Clemson. Did not want Bama to win again, not because of Saben and Bama, but their Ahole fans. But losing #9 sealed the game for Bama. Could not stay on the field. What a great game. I remember thinking when he took over, the same year Bo came here, how much I would rather have had him. Good guy, someone you could be proud your kid played for. Where is Cacti, he needs to whoop it up over here!!!! Quote Link to comment
HuskerInLA23
Dabo seems like he has some great qualities as a coach too, it's obvious how much those guys love to play for him. He also lost 7 games in his second year at Clemson. Then won the ACC the next year. Sometimes it takes a little bit for it all to click, hopefully we can keep improving and start to make those kind of strides in the near future. Also, kinda cool to see Keyshawn wearing Husker gear on ESPN 2 last night during the game. Quote Link to comment
Redux
If Saban wins last night, what more does he have to prove at Alabama? I get it, the guy walks on water and has already cememted himself as most successful HC of the modern era. But really, what more is there? Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
Get ready for the next football game. He said it himself before the game, it's not about the championships for him really. He likes coaching college for other reasons, so ashe long as he gets kids coming through the doors he will stay put. Quote Link to comment
Enhance
Saban best ever? he wasnt even best in the stadium Neither was TO at several points in his career. I think Saban will go down as the overall better head coach, but I'd still take Osborne any day of the week because of his demeanor. 1 Quote Link to comment

Saban would have been livid and ripped the kid a new one. Instead Dabo put his arm around him and picked him up. The kid new he made a mistake and instead of screaming at him and potentially making it snowball on him. Dabo chose to lift the kid up and encourage him. Things like that along with his fun personality is what makes Dabo so intriguing to play for. He appears to be the next great coach building possibly the new powerhouse at Clemson Quote Link to comment
