Alex Davis Possibly Out for the Year

Recommended Posts

I don't think it is real likely that he misses the season. Six to 8 weeks is the usual down time with this break. Even if they take it slow with him and wait 10-11 weeks to start working out that only puts him at the middle of July. Something drastically bad would have to happen with his healing and rehab for him not to be back this fall.

I could of sworn he broke a bone in his foot.Jr Year possibly?

Junior year, Rex was fully healthy. He did miss some time as a true freshman, can't remember what his injury was then.
I thought he had broke his leg or something and was out for the rest of the season.

He had something with his foot, but the Arizona Holiday Bowl was his freshman year and he played in that.

Burkhead played 9 games (missing 4) as a true freshman in 2010. He did have a foot injury, but it probably wasn't as severe as a Jones fracture.

Better to happen now than in Fall Camp. Maybe Freedom can cut some weight and play OLB and we can play with the Davis Twins at DE's and rely on some young guys and Newell to supply depth. Not ideal but would get out best 11 on the field. I think Davis will be back but he seems like he has a ways to go with the position switch anyways and this will surely put him behind schedule.

Been thinking about this a lot lately.

If we had been running a 3-4 for the past handful of years, you can bet Freedom and Neal come in at OLB's in the 3-4.
