NUance
Most scouts seem to agree that Abdullah doesn’t project to be an every-down back, so Joique Bell’s between-the-tackles role should be safe, at least for this season. On the other hand, Theo Riddick’s role as the Lions’ third-down back is in serious jeopardy. If things break his way and he sees significant time on passing downs, Abdullah could ultimately post top 25 numbers in PPR formats. LINK Yeah, well most of us never thought he'd be the starting Husker RB when we got him out of high school. Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
Abdullah will end up starting. He's a complete back Quote Link to comment
Red Five
Got him with the 7th pick in my dynasty league rookie draft. Hoping to reap the profits for many years to come. Quote Link to comment
NUance
3. Detroit Lions – Joique Bell (88.6) vs. Ameer Abdullah (112.6) vs. Theo Riddick (NA) By Brad Evans 23 hours ago Roto Arcade Entering camp, the separation between Jim Caldwell's RBs is razor-blade slim. <snip> Abdullah, whose worth ethic, quick feet and sure hands impressed the coaching staff in minicamp, is a strong contender to unseat Bell. In his storied career at Nebraska, he racked 5.64 yards per carry and over 4,500 career yards. He could play a hybrid role seeing occasional action on early and third downs, possibly earning the lion's share by midseason. LINK Abdullah continues to impress. NUance
Rookie RB Ameer Abdullah makes strong first impression with Lions by Michael Rothstein, ESPN Staff Writer Yes, it’s only one day and it was an unpadded practice, but rookie Ameer Abdullah displayed bursts of speed no other running back on the Lions has. He also showed enough vision to make smart cuts and get upfield. LINK And here I thought I wouldn't be watching the Lions much this year after they lost Suh. I'll be watching. Quote Link to comment
HuskermanMike
Right now Melvin Gordon has 6 carries for 11 yards in the third Quarter Ameer finished with 7 carries and 67 yards that is a solid outing for a prseason debut. 2 Quote Link to comment
