I learned that we can beat weak opponents but we can't beat better teams...that is of course if you consider Oregon and Norther Illinois better teams than us because last I checked, Arizona state beat Oregon.

I also learned that we will not be able to compete against teams like Wisconsin, Penn State, Ohio State, and Iowa. If we played Michigan, they would also beat us. In other words, we are not anywhere near where we should have been by now. Mike Riley is a very nice man and he is probably a wonderful person but he will not be able to get us back to Nebraska glory days. We have become insignificant and no one expects us to compete for conference championships. National championships are light years away at this point.

millions of light yrs away with no warp drive.

You could argue it's been this way since Solich was canned.

This post makes me wish you wouldn't return to post after it.

Disagree. That post was as interesting, or more, than most in this thread.

I missed the game completely and caught up by watching post-game coverage. By that point I knew the Huskers had won, and the HuskerPedia summary said it was a solid, complete game effort, with just the type of performance hoped for out of Lee and Ozibgo and a historical record for the defense of all things.

So when I saw the post-game with Riley I was immediately struck by the body language myself. The good-guy vibe was gone. Vocal inflection, too. It was a victory, but Riley looked beaten down. A different guy.

You know what's kinda fun and kinda not? Already knowing that the Huskers turned in the kind of performance HuskerBoard demanded, then reading the Game Day thread version of how things unfolded.

God, the Game Day thread is awful.

Late to the party.

Learned:

Tanner CAN avoid turning it over (yes, I know he fumbled and threw a couple of balls that coulda/shoulda been picked)

Maybe they're trending in the right direction since this seemed to be the cleanest game

Our DBs, Geez. I don't know what DW is teaching, but either their being taught bad technique or they don't possess the athleticism to execute.

We do have a pass rush at times

Overall, the team is still too loose with the football. Its almost like, this week, we traded interceptions for fumbles and dropped passes.

DPE is quite the inconsistent punt returner. One week he looks like an All-American, the next he looks like a first-timer.

Lee only plays decently when under NO duress, othewise bad.

What we learned is that Scott Frost MUST become the next HC NU-in `18.

UCF 41

memphis 14

I rest my case.

If we dont grab Frost, LSU or TN will.

I hope your opinion is based on something more than the results of one game.  It's kind of funny during these coaching searches how fan favorite changes each week based on which coach won that week.

Naw, Ive been following Frosty closely.  Took ucf from winless to bowl game last year, is 3-0 now, wins over MD and Memphis, where UCF was the dawg.  Their qb is at 65% CP, i.e., is better than Lee.

Frost is a winner, Riley is not.  A big time prog will grab him for `18, might as well be NU.
