BIG ERN
Bo Pelini $1.5M through Feb 28, 2019 Mike Riley $3M through 2020 season Bob Diaco $875,000 through 2018 season Danny Langsdorf $500,000 through 2018 season Assistant Coaches paid through Jan 31, 2019 Mike Cavanaugh $450,000 Trent Bray $425,000 Keith Williams $400,000 Donte Williams $400,000 Reggie Davis $350,000 John Parrella $272,500 If Riley is fired we will be paying for 3 Head Coaches in 2018. More than likely the new HC is going to want to bring in his previous staff, possibly keeping 2 assistants who are currently at Nebraska. Our current assistants have gotten raises so more than likely the new ones won't make quite as much right away. New 2018 Coaching Staff Guesstimates HC: $3.75M (would be around the 25th highest paid HC) OC: $500,000 DC: $500,000 5 new assistants (if they keep 2) on an average salary of $350,000 2018 Grand Estimate Total = over $15M 2 Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
Only thing is the ex coaches and current coaches are getting paid out of completely separate funds 1 Quote Link to comment

Nick Saban alone gets paid $11M. There are coaches with buyouts of $15M and $12M. Are you afraid of doing what needs to be done (aka doing business) or live in loserville because you are afraid of what the line item says on the accounting sheets? 2 Quote Link to comment

I've stated several times that we are seriously under paying and are seeing the results in doing so. Riley is around the 43rd highest paid coach. We need a new HC, but it just shows after constantly having turnover it ends up being very expensive. We aren't Alabama and shouldn't compare to them. We have proven that we either don't have anywhere near their money, or we are unwilling to spend that much. Quote Link to comment
Whs from cb
How much will it cost if we keep the same product on the field? 3 Quote Link to comment

Also, $15 million is nothing to our Athletic Department. edit: Plus as previously stated, that money is coming from the "other" accounts that hold 10s of millions of dollars. 3 Quote Link to comment

We always talk like Nebraska has unlimited amounts of dollars, but I'm waiting to see these dollars spent. And please don't talk about facilities. I've traveled to other universities and many have caught up or passed us. Quote Link to comment
Red Five
There are few better jobs in America than a fired P5/NFL head football coach. 2 Quote Link to comment
BIG ERN
Again, I am for hiring Scott Frost or a big name coach. Just thought it was funny how we are paying 3 HC next year along with several other coaches who won't even be here Quote Link to comment

Ratt Mhule
Oh man if our budget for a new coach is 3.75 million we will be in this same position 4-5 years from now. Good luck getting an established coach to move from current job to Nebraska. Quote Link to comment
