pearljammer
Moss came out and stated Miles will be back next year. Good move IMO. Quote Link to comment
The Murphinator
Palmer and Copeland are going to test their NBA value. Quote Link to comment

Agree that Miles should be given another year after the team's performance this year, but he needs to make the NCAA Tournament next year or he needs to be fired. 2 Quote Link to comment

Agree. Although I think we take a step back, personally. Quote Link to comment

I think you may be right in that the team may take a step back. Miles' team didn't perform well under high expectations in 2015, and I am sure NU will have a tougher conference schedule next year. The tougher conference schedule will provide the tougher SOS needed to make the tournament, but NU has to win those games in order to make the SOS count. Quote Link to comment

If Palmer and Copeland are gone, the odds of making the tournament plummet significantly. The odds of both of them returning is slim, and I don't think Copeland is coming back either way. There is a chance that Palmer returns, but with how things have gone in the past with transfers I wouldn't be so sure. Quote Link to comment

If they don't return, Miles can't use that as an excuse for not doing well in 2018-19. Next year will be his 7th year. That's plenty of time to figure out how to build his program and make the NCAA tournament more than 1 out of 7 years. 1 Quote Link to comment
NUance
If I understand correctly, by Palmer and Copeland not hiring agents they will preserve their college eligibility. Then one, maybe both, could be back, right? Quote Link to comment

GBRFAN
Would suck to loose either. however if we loose one and it is coopland - I feel that Roby can cover the void. Tired of relying on grad transfers - but maybe there is a 3-point shooter out there that wants to play at NU. Loosing both will put TM in position to work really hard to keep his spot. I hope I’m wrong but I have pretty low expectations. Even if JPP and Copeland somehow both come back, I think the underlying issues will still be there and with a tougher schedule, we may struggle.
