Couldn’t agree more.   There are plenty of throwing QB’s in HS capable of being quality college QB’s that are also athletic enough to scramble for yards when necessary.

tired of having the 1 read and run QB’s.  You can’t have a quality consistent passing attack with that type of personnel.

I think this is an excellent point also because all these qbs end up putting the game in there hands at the high school level and that just doesnt translate well into college.  In highschool its just the pool of the people in your community but college its the best that you can get to go there so you have a pool of people who decided to go to that school.  You might be a dynamic runner but your going up against people who are dynamic at stopping the run.  So now in the b10 the land of the linemen we are asking a qb who is a decent thrower to now try to run around or through linemen who go to these school to be friggin linemen, so by the time you go outside the pocket the game is up and there after you now.  Well if a rb goes down we can get someone else to run the ball but if a qb goes down for something stupid youve got to rely on his backup who is rusty, doent know the system, is even a more run first guy than the guy hes replacing.  Take everything, everything i just said and throw it out the door.  Do you think anyone from Iowa is that good, really that good, really that fast, really and yet there winning pretty handily.  Kirk Ferrenz doesnt care who runs the dam ball.  As long as he get 10 yards in 3 carries who gives a s#!t the job is done.

I posted these stats a couple games ago.  Here are the updated stats looking at the past decade under Pelini, Riley and Frost.  When you look at the trends our offense is scoring nearly 6 points fewer from a year ago and our defense is giving up nearly 3 more points a game.  Not a recipe for success.

Year Points Scored Points Allowed Differential Wins Losses Win Percentage
2010 30.9 17.4 13.5 10 4 0.714
2011 29.2 23.4 5.8 9 4 0.692
2012 34.8 27.6 7.2 10 4 0.714
2013 31.9 24.8 7.1 9 4 0.692
2014 37.8 26.4 11.4 9 3 0.750
2015 32.8 27.8 5 5 7 0.417
2016 26.5 23.9 2.6 9 4 0.692
2017 25.8 36.4 -10.6 4 8 0.333
2018 30 31.2 -1.2 4 8 0.333
2019 28 27.8 0.2 5 7 0.417
2020 22.4 30.6 -8.2 2 5 0.286

But then people will tell you that it’s not a real year so it doesn’t matter.

Yes I am fine too if they get rid of Moos.  Moos basically said he is sticking with Frost until 2026 no matter what.

Moos was only given the AD gig because he promised to only go after SF. Really wasnt "his" hire. It was TO, Green, etc...The hire made sense at the time, as most wanted the "hottest" candidate in the country and it just happto be a home grown guy. You can't blame Moos for that. The extension was iffy, but if you look back at the board, most of us had optimism too. Moos' hands are tied. He needs to keep SF at least another year, probably 2. Moos should not be the fall guy here. TO is just as much to blame, if not more.

I agree that Moos got who everybody wanted, but I strongly disagree that Moos was right to extend Frost about a year ago exactly (December, 2019).  Frost was coming off a much worse 2nd season than he had in his first season, and he still had 5 years on the contract so it's not like the time left was an issue for potential recruits.  Moos should NOT have extended Frost to 2026 unless Frost had turned the program around and was showing great progress in Year 2.

I  agree with you. Probably too early for an extension based on results.

I think that was for frost to show the university had faith and to cement that fact to the fans

Moos isnt going anywhere, hes a good AD.  Frost if he doesnt turn it around next year his seat is on fire, he cant get to a bowl in year 5 and hes gone.  Time to bring on urban.

We have a better chance of going undefeated next year than Urban ever coaching here (not sure if you were serious)...   BUT we could bring in Art Briles

Who do you get? Who would want it?

I'm not sure this program can be saved.

Fred Hoiberg is here as our basketball coach. Our b-ball team has no history of success

if you have the money, facilities, fan support amongst other things and a coach looks at the position and says shoot they have everything you need to succeed you can get a top tier coach

Fred had family history here, unique situation that I don't think applies to your argument.
