NebraskaHarry
Admo and Archy couldn't possibly think this Abbott trucker check point thing for illegal immigration was a good thing, right? I mean this has to be trolling? Something that resulted in 0 illegal immigrants, drugs, or anything other than over 1 billion dollars lost. Surely fiscal conservatives would find this as an utter waste in lost revenue and resources by the government. Right? How is it that "conservatives" are willing to waste billions on a useless border wall and useless trucker check points? I'll agree, immigration is an important topic that needs to be addressed. But these methods are stupid and nothing more than a political stunt to make the economy worse in hopes to deflect blame on the party in charge. If that's not it, then its complete incompetence. 3 1 Link to comment

But which part of "no drugs and no illegals were found by Abbott's stunt" was confusing to you? A funny gif that has been used in other threads outside of PR forum does not belong in the shed lol. A question is not a personal attack. Nice try playing the victim card tho. Again, let's agree not talk to each other and move along. 2 1 Link to comment

All he did was ask if you could actually think that a costly plan to combat illegal immigration and drugs, and failed at doing either, was a good thing? Is that so wrong? Can you not handle that? 4 1 Link to comment

JJ Husker
A pretty good rundown of the multiple reasons for food price inflation. Bad News- expect it to continue well into 2023. https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2022/04/21/food-prices-inflation-surge/ Link to comment

Well you can bet plenty will be made of him allowing more ethanol for fuel in the summer. IMO sure that will contribute to increased food prices but it also will contribute to lower fuel costs. Probably a wash at the end of the day. There isn’t much he can do about the other things quick enough to matter. And if he did do something like relax immigration to help with the labor shortage, you can be sure at least half the people would only b!^@h about it. It is his economy as unfair as that may actually be. Politicians can only influence so many economic matters so far, they pretty much are controlled by the market. Partisan games won’t acknowledge that reality. Link to comment

He’s taken certain steps to elevate those high fuel prices. One, was to allow ethanol to be sold over summer. So, now they are going to complain about food prices. Meanwhile, farmers who are heavily Republican, are benefiting from that. Republicans are swimming in circles around this trying to blame it all on Biden. Link to comment

Corn prices have increased almost 12% since then. Input costs are high. But, farmers are benefiting from the increase since this article. FYI…..I didn’t say it was making them rich. Link to comment

Well, I've wanted to retire and buy in Florida (I like water and not brown desert). Looks like we are in the same situation. 1 Link to comment
