  1. Whether you agree with him or not, interviewing and hearing from Putin is not a bad thing. In fact, it’s a good thing. Kudos to Tucker Carlson for partaking in actual journalism.

  3. What about this makes Trump not want to run for President? The entire reason he's running is to avoid prison. It also doesn't affect his electability because the median voter is impossibly stupid.

  4. The deep state cabal - orchestrated by Taylor Swift - has unlimited power. And that power is being directed at Donald J. Trump, to suppress his ability to win elections and save America from the satanic clutches of DEI/CRT/Fentanyl laced Immigrant Caravans pouring over BIDENS open border.

  6. I do think it is absolutely hilarious that people use "Ukrainian corruption" as a scapegoat as to why we shouldn't fund or shouldn't support them, when the US government certainly has more that its fair share of corruption on the Supreme Court, in the Presidency, and in both houses of Congress. In fact, it's so bad that two Republican administrations ago (GW) the Republican senate and stacked Supreme Court respectively passed and upheld Citizens United to legalize corruption, and there are still ones that can't stay within the boundaries of the law. What's more, your telling me lthat no other country that we continously shell out money to or would go to war on behalf of has any less corruption than Ukraine? Bull crap. Anyone citing that as an excuse is only repeating Trumps nonsense gibberish to justify holding Trumps jock so that he can hold Putins. But hey, truth, justice and the American way is the only thing of the past that apparently doesn't Make America Great Again huh boys?

  7. For goodness sakes can we stop pretending like we have to treat Tucker Carlson like a legitimate journalist? None of the people TV personalities from Fox News are. They’re professional mouthpieces who get paid gobs and gobs of many to be the faces of the right-wing propaganda machine. The framing for the purpose of the “interview” is idiotic and gives the game away. It’s a scripted stunt. You think a dictator like Putin sits down and gets challenged by real journalists with real questions? Hell, our leaders here in the free world barely do that. No way in hell Putin does. He disappears people who look at him wrong. Tucker is there to serve his purpose and dance his little puppet dance. Pretending otherwise is laughable.

  8. Russian propaganda often highlighted Tucker Carlson content on Fox. Carlson's positions (anti-NATO, anti-Biden, anti-Ukraine, pro-Trump, pro-Putin) could not have aligned more perfectly with Putin, and having the #1 U.S. pundit broadcasting them nightly was definitely a trophy for Putin, who enjoys stoking partisan chaos regardless. I don't believe there's been a significant journalist sit-down with Putin since the Ukraine invasion. Maybe I missed it. But these things are considered a coup for journalists and a PR opportunity for the interviewee, so everything is fairly predictable. I would be shocked if Tucker didn't come out with a couple "tough" questions to preempt claims he's being an exploitable lapdog, but they will be questions Putin already knows are coming, and nothing will emerge from the interview that displeases him. I also rolled my eyes when Sean Penn interviewed El Chapo.

  13. That photo could easily represent the likes of Mariupol, Avdiivka, Bahkmut, Kharkov, Aleppo and on and on. But, you know we forced Putin into doing this and once he takes the whole of Ukraine he'll play nice with his neighbors. No way he has intentions on rebuilding his military. He'll never again attempt to overwhelm other antagonistic democracies not with high-tech weapons but with meat waves. I mean it's not like the Soviets lost 8.5 million soldiers in WWII and don't consider dying for Mother Russia an honor. Best of all our isolationism is sure to repeat history and save us money in the long run. It's not like having to supply our troops and maintain our high-tech weapon systems we'll need to station in the region to deter Putin is expensive. It's a brilliant strategic move to bail out on another ally and send the signal to the likes of China, North Korea and Iran that we don't have the intestinal fortitude to see things out. Who doesn't agree that national security should cost nothing?

  14. I didn’t say you had a bunch of knowledge about Putin. But you do know who he is, what he has done, and you still seem to think it serves some purpose for him to be interviewed by someone from the US. IDK about the R party being in the tank for Putin but Tucker is and a biggly portion of the most vocal MAGAs sure have been. Since when did being patriotic become giving Putin the benefit of the doubt, wearing a red trucker cap and flying a f#&% Biden flag? The party you support is by far the biggest problem in this country. Full stop.

  18. Education is a complicated issue that neither side of the aisle can fix by themselves. What you do in a wealthy suburban school may not work in the inner city. Get the freaking Politians as far away as freaking possible and let educators make decisions. Parents need to support their kids in education and allow them to grow and learn. Don't protect them from the consequences of their actions or their learning. They need to learn from them. Realize that in certain situations, schools need to be the central part of the community and that might be expensive. Meaning there might have to be medical and social services available at the school. There may need to be plenty of after school activities to support the education of kids where families fail to provide the support. Again, this may be expressive, but not needed everywhere. Bring back and expand vocational education. Kids that are capable of college, move them on. There is not a one solution fix for education. Fund what works, cut what doesn't.

  22. The date is February 6th, 1941, two years into WWII, which started by Hitler invading Poland on September 1, 1939. Edward R. Murrow, takes his radio show to Berlin to interview Hitler, providing Hitler a platform to share "his side," attempting to justify the war he started. This message is to be shared directly to the American people. How exactly would the US have reacted at that time. Would his plane have been intercepted and not allowed to fly? Would he have been held in prison for potentially aiding and abetting, or acting as a spy? Would FDR have shrugged his shoulders and let it happen? Would Murrow have been allowed back on US soil after? I fail to see how this is any different.

  25. LoL…..guess what’s gonna magically happen…single adults will magically have kids or families they are traveling with. And still no one has answers why the stringent border closures that people claim will all of a sudden happen when 5,000 people cross, can’t take place when 2,000 people cross? Why do we need to deal with an additional 3,000 a day before we “finally get strong and cap what is coming over”.

  26. Some interesting nuggets in this questioning. And why is it usually the case in controversial times of our history, information and technology assets seem to magically disappear even though the records act is quite clear on what’s supposed to happen? Would be nice I guess if the everyday citizen could get away with this excuse when a court or congress demands communication from them. “Oh sorry Judge, yeah there was a backup problem and the data was deleted. Sorry again bro. I’ll get you next time!”

  27. While this is the only correct ruling in a society which prides itself on equality before the law, it's nice to see that this was the outcome. “At bottom, former President Trump’s stance would collapse our system of separated powers by placing the President beyond the reach of all three Branches. Presidential immunity against federal indictment would mean that, as to the President, the Congress could not legislate, the Executive could not prosecute and the Judiciary could not review. We cannot accept that the office of the Presidency places its former occupants above the law for all time thereafter. Careful evaluation of these concerns leads us to conclude that there is no functional justification for immunizing former Presidents from federal prosecution in general or for immunizing former President Trump from the specific charges in the Indictment. In so holding, we act, “not in derogation of the separation of powers, but to maintain their proper balance.”

  30. I partially agree. American corruption looks different. Still, American institutions and government workers by and large believe in their missions and work to help the American people. It's not fair to compare American corruption - no matter how corporate money is donated, it doesnt directly go into the pockets of politicians - to outright bribery and corruption seen in Ukraine. It's fair to criticize their corruption and point out, like the European Union has, that is something they need to get under control to join European trade groups, engage in free trade agreements, and the like.

  31. The issue with this deeply flawed CATO Analysis is that it assumes that Ukraine belongs in the Russian sphere of influence, and that the 2014 coup was led by Western countries including the United States, with the assumption of NATO expansion without any evidence. They act like the coup was orchestrated by the West and was not desired by the people of Ukraine. This is deeply flawed because the 2014 coup was widely supported by the population of Ukraine. They chose to ally themselves closer to Western Europe because it's better than the long term future. Russia does not have a right to decide for them. To compare why the people of Ukraine made that choice, lets compare 5 former Soviet Republics. The Baltic States - Former Soviet Republics; now NATO Countries allied with the West Lithuania Latvia Estonia Current Russian Satellite States Belarus Ukraine Lets compare the GDP Per Capita of these 5 countries, and let me know if you notice anything about them GDP Per Capita in 1995 and in 2022 (According the World Bank) Lithuania - 1995: $2167 ----> 2022: $25,064 Latvia - 1995: $2329 -----> 2022: $21,779 Estonia - 1995: $3134 -----> 2022: $29,247 Belarus - 1995: $900 -----> 2022: $7,888 Ukraine - 1995: $1265 -----> 2022: $4,534 The people of Ukraine simply made an obvious choice: it sucks to be poor. They want to ally themselves with the West because the data speaks for itself. That doesn't mean that Ukraine doesn't have it's problems; they have a long road to ending their corruption. But make no mistake, the people choose their destiny. Russia saw it as a threat to their ultra-Nationalist and long term goals, so they invaded. It has nothing to do with the United States, NATO, or the West. It has everything to do with that it sucks to be Russia, allied with Russia, or to be neighboring Russia.

  33. And what great insight did any of those interviews provide? Is there anybody here naive enough to believe Putin will say anything approaching the truth? And I’ll be upfront, I’m appalled that we have people here defending Tucker as a journalist and Putin as somebody worth hearing from. It’s just crazy imo.

  35. A couple questions. What about Tucker makes him not the appropriate person? Who would the right person be in this case? I haven’t seen anyone here saying that Putin shouldn’t be interviewed by anybody. Rather the sentiment seems to be that the combination of Tucker and Putin won’t yield anything other than a message suitable for Tucker and propaganda favorable to Putin. That is not “journalism” imo. But I’m curious….what in all of your knowledge of Putin leads you to believe an interview by a western journalist (I hesitate to use that term for Tucker) is a good thing or has any value at all?
    2 points
  36. I’m certainly not saying Tucker is the appropriate person to do this interview. I’m saying it’s funny that posters have a problem that Putin is being interviewed when people like him have been interviewed for decades.

  40. The talent on the roster is what got Bo going yes. Callahan left talent, and Bo knew how to use it. For him it was always an issue of restocking, and that led to his downfall. He was a good coach who could beat similarly talented and worse teams all the time, but when he ran into a superiorly talented team he got his doors blown off because of the dudes on the field in his last 2-3 years.

  43. In other words we haven't locked in a spot in the tournament yet. They are projecting us to finish as a 9 seed but we have to win more games for that to happen. Same can be said for literally every team to hold on to their current projected spot. Some teams do have enough wins right now to essentially guarantee they are in the tournament though.
