  1. I'd venture to argue that the number of people advocating for genital surgery in minors is drastically smaller than the number of people who, say, are catholic priests raping young boys or are parents/leaders/regular members of any number of denominations of faith who disbelieve the claims of abuse being cried out by their youth in protection of the church, if we're in the comparison game.

  2. Thanks Archy. Seriously. Truth is, this is what I envisioned you wanting to post, but avoided because it's pretty loaded with stuff other posters would jump on. It's still perfectly within the realm of healthy P&R discussion. Since you believe transgenderism shouldn't be celebrated at all, the Easter part is pretty moot. Assumption remains that supporting transgender people flies in the face of Christianity. As the father of a child who has identified as trans since roughly 20, I maintain plenty of questions and concerns myself. I do think there's a social movement attached, and that the whole issue is going through a phase that may look different in a few years, just as the nomenclature has changed too fast for poor dad to keep up. I've also been forced to learn a lot from a multitude of sources, both anecdotal and scientific. If I could disabuse you of only one thing today, it's that this is being driven by parents and doctors and agenda mongers. It's simply not. It's being driven by young people at a fairly great risk to themselves, and as they're emerging, parents and doctors and society at large is being asked to adjust and accept. The science isn't perfect, but it's increasingly clear that a small number (under 1%) of humans are born with some kind of trans-gender identity, and likely have been across cultures and throughout history, as God made them. It's an anomaly, not a mental illness. Plenty of tough issues remain, including medical intervention on minors, but the vast majority of trans people -- hell any people -- report life-changing benefits when allowed to be yourself.

  3. They are both in the wrong. Maybe Israel can decide 30,000 killed is enough to make up for the 1,000 killed and raped. But I think they just want to take over the entire region and govern it, but only as occupiers, because they don't want those people to vote.

  4. It's astronomically smaller. And that doesn't mention the devout Christians who abuse their kids, physically, emotionally, and worse. And yet little to no ink is spilled on these pages about that by the same people who are ENRAGED by a coincidence of holidays.

  7. It’s not just priests. My Twitter timeline has headlines almost every day of Protestant ministers found to be doing the same thing. I could go on.

  8. Workers control the means of production. Wealth inequality is something to be corrected. The value of a commodity is measured by the worker's skill, yada yada yada. I'm sure this isn't what you or Carol had in mind, or Karl for that matter, but it's not that big of a leap from that post. Also, it's laughable to think DEI investment is taking anything away from corporate bottom lines. Carol is so keen to badmouth DEI and ESG, she unwittingly crawls in bed with Karl Marx. Best of all, she's right. Shared ownership is a smart corporate move that's been available to them forever and avoided for the selfish reasons that create class conflict.

  9. Welp, here ya go @Guy Chamberlin you and I have a little back and forth discussion and some dude ^^^^^^^ claims it to “froth” four days later. As if said dude thinks I’m the one bringing it up or “frothing” about it. Kinda why it pointless to discuss the tough issues here

  10. Yep, I agree. I think all normal people agree. There is nothing that can be done in terms of "talking it out" and all that stuff.

  13. Thanks again for the links. Got through them this morning. All three seem to verify what I suspected, that Lorewarn wasn’t accurate with his assessment. I’ve always felt the biggest area of abusing the voting system was in ballot harvesting and that is near impossible to catch and prosecute. Just my own thoughts, but if ballots had to be turned into a live person with a one time ballot return per person and a maximum of five ballots per person, voting totals would probably be decreased by a decent amount.

  14. Is the current model "dead" or does it just not make enough money for certain people? Because I liked the college football model from, say, ten years ago. Even 20. But the current model, where millions of dollars flow through NIL collectives, where a guy can transfer from Alabama to Iowa, collect a huge bag, and then transfer back to Alabama without playing a single snap or even practicing with Iowa? Yeah, that "model" is crap.

  16. Thanks for confirming Thanks again for confirming that minor gender assignment surgery does exist . Minors can’t consent to a gender assignment surgery without parental consent. Feel free to discuss that till your hearts content. I doubt I would push back on ya! Just because one is true doesn’t make the other not true and vice versa

  19. How it pertains is that if you, generally speaking, don't think, "...Christians are advocating for looping off your privates ... or chopping off your boobs", which they aren't, but parents and doctors aren't really advocating for either of those things either (anomalies exist), and it's worth pointing out that Christians do/are/have advocated for other things that are horrific and dramatically life altering in their own ways, at a much more massive volume than whatever amount of people actually are "advocating for looping off your privates" I see the inconsistency and efforts to make a mountain out of a molehill same as you, but I would describe archy as anything other than enraged.

  20. Yep! That is the part that the Pro-Pally crowd here in the USA doesn't get. They seem to think that the hammies are like this small little group that is hated by the Pally's, but that is not the case, not even a little bit. Once again, the "I need a cause" group in America has fallen for s#!t.

  26. Well I did mention pastors to Guy. Priests were the very first one mentioned by Lorewarn so that’s what was responded to. If you think I don’t believe many pastors, parents, friends, relatives, non relatives, other children (hopefully that covers them all for you) over the years have abused children, you are flat wrong.

  28. I, as a Christian, am not offended the least by the TG day. I don't have to defend my faith, my God, My Christ because of it. If God's essential nature is love (and it is - all other attributes are defined by love), then God isn't offended. No reason for me to be. God's nature isn't judgment, his actions towards us aren't retributive - it is always based on love. We are each set on our own personal journey and I believe that journey ultimately takes us to knowing and experiencing the God of love - whether in this life or the next. Unfortunately, the average Christian isn't that much different then the average Joe who isn't a Christian. As you mention, many appear devout on the outside but are battling demons of their own on the inside - which leads to abuse of self and others. I know this all too well - in years past, I allowed anger, the result of the need to control out of deep wounding by my parents to lead me to hurt those I love (not physically but emotionally). But experiencing healing has enabled me to rise above abusive words of anger - as I have experienced the healing love of God in a fresh and new way in my 60s (at age 68 - I'm probably one of the oldest on HB). So that is my journey. I'm very sadden by those who profess faith but remain abusive. They like those who don't profess faith & who are abusive still need to confront those demons and find their path to healing. Of course, sometimes it takes jail time for that to occur for some. Until then, their confession of faith is just that - words not lived out - a form of godliness without the power.

  29. If you want to talk about being in the comparison game, then you replied to the wrong person. Guy made a comparison I replied to. Take it up with him. If you want to talk about the disgusting behavior of Priest over the course of time, I’m all in 99.9% and would back you up. How that pertains to the discussion at hand, well, I guess that’s for you to decide and have with yourself my man

  31. Which is the reason I was hesitant to post in the first place. I knew this and didn’t want to come across as attacking you or your loved one on a personal basis by either choosing a poorly placed word or having a thought taken out of context. I agreed in my post that a I believe a very small amount of people have a genetic anomaly that allowed them to produce both sex organs and a choice at birth or close to birth was made which could have been the wrong one. However, the amount of people identifying as trans/non-binary is at an extremely high number compared to what the science says. It’s a mental illness or a coping mechanism for those people IMO. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2022/06/07/about-5-of-young-adults-in-the-u-s-say-their-gender-is-different-from-their-sex-assigned-at-birth/ I need to push back on this as we read story after story after story of kids under 10 years living a life of a different gender than their birth. We both talked about the scientific numbers yet we read about parents who somehow have 3 trans/non-binary children! And the pediatrics interviewed go along with it. Courts go along with it. Those kids are screwed in my personal opinion. The amount of Hollywood stars that have transgender kids doesn’t come anywhere near to where the science says it comes out to be. Court cases are constantly in the news where parents get divorced with kids and one says the boy is a boy and one says the boy is a girl, Court says the boy needs to be referred by both parents as a girl How does a young child know this? Kids younger than 5 are being raised opposite their birth gender. That’s crazy and parents are driving that IMO. Anyways, appreciate the civilized discussion, hope for the best for you and your child, that you both live long happy healthy lives and I will return this back to being The Big Guy’s America thread

  32. Thanks This guy, in the article link below, has a unique way of 'fixing the problem' - 4 regional groups of 16 - I immediately noticed that he doesn't have Minnesota, NW, Indiana and Rutgers in the Tier 1 group. He then elaborates on how a schedule would work and how players would be paid based on Tier. https://washedmedia.com/blog/i-fixed-college-football Tier 1 Tier 2

  40. I think Nebraska is going to kick their a$$ to be honest. The defense is going to match up well and our offense will be much better in handling the game and not turning the ball over. Nebraska has a better roster and ended with the better team last year.

Pretty good numbers for somebody that's "not that good". Wish we would have had a QB that was "not that good" last year.
