Really? No good choice? A continuation of democracy over authoritarianism isn't a good choice? That's exactly what this election comes down to.5 points

I think we have to get to the place where we accept that Joe Biden is in decline, but it can be successfully mitigated. Given the alternative and what's at stake, we accept the inside intel that Joe remains highly knowledgeable and capable on important subjects -- vastly better than Donald Trump -- and that Joe will remain prone to both physical and verbal missteps while under constant scrutiny. The party stops pretending he's not too old and that we didn't deserve someone younger and more inspiring, but instead it transparently limits his press conferences and extemporaneous opportunities, and begins delegating more public roles to his cabinet members and spokespeople. Biden is the President and will give some perfectly good speeches when needed, but it will be a team effort. And if you look at the team Biden assembles vs. the team Trump will assemble, it's not even close. It's grown ups vs. the worst teenagers you can imagine. It's Big Ten vs Community College.4 points

You are arguing with the guy who continually posted false stories during the Trump Russia investigation of 2017/2018 and heavily relied on Adam Schiff who as we know, was found to be a liar. I think you are fine!3 points

If it is a public school system the district would be involved, changes are not made at the building level unless some principal just went rouge, which could happen and like you mentioned, would not last long and that principal would be gonezo. You know what, let me edit this, there is a chance that the school had some sort of autonomy but usually not for programs like that. Good! Idiot.3 points

Yeah wasn't trying to single you out. I'm just a bit punchy. I think in all likelihood a lot of people will have to bite the bullet this go around. I personally don't feel this way, as it's an easy choice for me. Our system is at fault for spitting out these choices again, so IMO we can all be pissed at the system itself. But at the end of the day one party is a lot more broken than the other. Trumpism needs to be told to again f#&% off so we can get a decent alternative for that side of the aisle again. I shudder to think how much worse they get if they're once again rewarded for their current standard bearer.3 points

Ehhhh, I am torn on this. I have no idea how it would work BUT a HS kid that lives at home with Mom/Dad in a 600K house...just doesn't need 18 dollars an hour to work at Crumble Cookie. With that said, the capitalist in me says that everyone should take every freaking penny they can get... But then the hungry side of me says that I hate paying 10 dollars at McDonalds. Literally, this is more confusing to me than capital punishment, term limits or abortion. Those are all easy.2 points

I mean, clearly employment is way up. I suppose if you want to argue over the word "created" or "recovered" you can but all that really matters is that people have jobs.2 points

I don't agree with the idea of P2025. The Heritage Foundation has been around since long before Trump. The post provided visual evidence the announcement was wrong. Did you have anything proving the post wrong, or do you just not like the source.2 points

Apparently we haven't actually offered yet. Only played one year of football after moving from New Zealand. HS OL Coach is Toniu Fonoti. Utah, Oregon State and Stanford also after him.2 points

Care to show when or where I "admitted" trolling for laughs? Are the numbers wrong? Or you just don't like the source?2 points

First and foremost is the repeated lie that there have been 13 million jobs created. It's would be realistic if they used the term recovered. Check out March 1st 2020 employment numbers compared to March 1st 2024. They are virtually identical. Every single jobs report for over a year has been revised downwards...by ad many as 100k in June of 2023. The March press release touts 303k. But forget to note that full time jobs were actually down 6000. 71k were gubmint jobs, and 49k were seasonal construction jobs returning after winter. But you will never see Biden's team alluding to the truth.2 points
-
If I make a mistake I say so. If Biden's handlers make a mistake, or are wilfully disingenuous, they double down, and it gets repeated by the masses. I have never seen a retraction or admission from the WH staff when this jobs nonsense proves false. Have you?2 points

Done.. Top on 9, lead stretched to 5. 7-2 good guys. Worthley on to close it out. Good outing by him today as well. If he shuts the door the huskers will have used only 3 pitchers in the first 2 games.2 points

Biden is one hell of a lot better choice than the other guy.2 points

Quick 1, 2, 3 top of the 6th.. really good outing so far for McConnaughey. Through 6, he's only thrown 66 pitches2 points

Comparing stats and records now is pretty much meaningless. In the 70s, 80s, and 90s, teams only played 11 games and bowl games didn't count towards official stats. Now everyone plays 12 games and bowl game stats count. And until the mid-70s freshmen couldn't play. And now we'll have a 5 year window due to Covid where you will have guys who play for 5 years.2 points

Look how excited these guys are to make a play in practice. <cue allen iverson> What a concept this spring league is.2 points

U of MN built a new stadium 15 years ago and was paid for 40% by the State of Minnesota and 60% by the University. It only cost $300M (in 2009 dollars), but seats just 50k. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huntington_Bank_Stadium Stadium proposal The push for a new on-campus stadium for Golden Gopher football began in the fall of 2000. The university cited poor revenue and lack of a college football atmosphere at the off-campus Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome as their main reasons for wanting to move back on campus.[13][14] A plan for a joint Minnesota Vikings/University of Minnesota football stadium was proposed in 2002, but differences over how the stadium would be designed and managed, as well as state budget constraints, led to the plan's failure.[15] In September 2003 a highly publicized attempt was made by T. Denny Sanford to be the lead donor for the project, but in early 2004 the plan fell through when the two parties were unable to come to an agreement on the financial terms.[16] The university unveiled preliminary stadium drawings and a general plan to seek state money and donations in December 2003. On March 24, 2005, the university and TCF Bank announced a deal that would have the bank contribute $35 million towards the project which would give them naming rights.[17] The deal was given an expiration date of December 31, 2005; time enough for the Minnesota Legislature to provide the bulk of funding needed to make the project a reality.[18] During the remainder of 2005 the university concentrated on drafting a stadium proposal that would draw the support of state politicians. The final plan proposed that the state of Minnesota would contribute 40% of the stadium cost while the university would raise the remaining 60% on its own. Portions of that 60% were to be funded by the TCF naming rights, while the remainder would come from a $50 per semester student fee, private donations, the sale of 2,840 acres (11.5 km2) of university land in rural Dakota County back to the state, and game day parking revenue.[17] Even though the university proposal drew widespread legislative support, the stadium effort suffered a setback when the 2005 legislative session ended before the stadium bill could be heard.[19] Late in 2005 when it became evident that this would happen, the university and TCF Bank announced that it had extended the naming rights deal to June 30, 2006.[18] Despite the 2005 session having ended with the bill not coming to a vote, the stadium effort did not lose momentum in the legislature and was introduced quickly in the 2006 session. On April 6, 2006, the Minnesota House of Representatives passed the stadium bill on a 103–30 vote.[20] The house bill was nearly identical to what the university was proposing and had full university support.[21] However, on May 9, 2006, the Minnesota Senate passed a radically different version of the bill on a 34–32 vote.[22] The Senate version would have removed the TCF naming rights deal, the student fees, and the purchase of the university owned land. The proposed funding that was removed was to be replaced with a statewide tax on sports memorabilia. It also would have required the stadium to be named Veterans Memorial Stadium (similar to the previous on-campus football stadium Memorial Stadium, which was last used in 1981 and demolished in 1992).[11] Governor Tim Pawlenty stated he supported the House version.[23] He signed the bill in May 2006 at the University of Minnesota McNamara Alumni Center.[24] Legislative approval 2006 Even though the differences between the House and Senate bills were major, the details were ironed out and approved on May 19, in a House–Senate conference committee. The naming rights and land sale remained in the bill, as did a scaled down $25 per year student fee. The tax on sports memorabilia as well as the Veterans Memorial Stadium name were voted out. The committee also voted to increase the state contribution to the project to compensate for the smaller student fees.[25] The compromise bill was then approved by both the full house and senate on May 20, and was signed by Governor Tim Pawlenty on May 24.[26][27][28]2 points

No doubt. Trump even campaigned for Pillen's R primary opponent, but Pillen still bows down to Trump's demands. Spineless and pathetic is what it is. But that's today's GOP.2 points

What else can you say about Sears?!! Complete game shut out. 10 k, 0 walks, 2 hits , 0 runs!! Another quality start which moves ahead of Waldron for the most consecutive QS. He got some great defense tonight too.2 points

It is a bit of both IMO. Christo has been decent, but he isn’t going deep into games currently and hasn’t yet taken that next step to build on what he has already done in the offseason. Both Sears and McConnaughey have made jumps since the start and have had really good starts to the season and since Christo has stalled in his performance a bit, they have both passed him up. Christo has more upside still, it would be great for him to keep working and make another jump, which IMO would make this team REALLY dangerous come postseason. Childress has seemingly pushed a lot of the right buttons so far with Christo as he is clearly better than last year, so I am cautiously optimistic he will get another level out of Christo yet this season.1 point
