Yep - a president become DeFacto king, ruler for life if he so desire. I wish that escalator had swallowed him up in 2015. A decade of chaos because of one bad man.6 points

What country are we living in? North Korea, China, Russia - if Trump and his ilk had their way, he'd replicate their systems and set himself up as dictator. Yes, Russia has elections too. Funny how Putin always wins.4 points

We're witnessing the death of American democracy. Everything else that is argued about on this board is moot if the executive branch is granted complete immunity.4 points

Not that there was any doubt left but just to add to the body of evidence that the GOP is now a full fledged authoritarian party, here's the ridiculous and fascistic argument being put forth at the Supreme Court.4 points

There are videos of protestors at either Columbia or NYU chanting 'We are Hamas'. Who knows if they were even students.4 points

You're putting it past Trump to do that especially if he doesn't have sane people around him? That's some pretty thin ice for democracy to skate on especially if the court rules in his favor on immunity. He'll be even more emboldened next time without the possibility of any consequences. How about another hypothetical. One which really isn't hypothetical since his minions are tits deeps in it in Arizona. What about a president and his allies putting forth a slate of false electors?3 points

Correct. This attorney did not turn down the case it seems since he/she is arguing the case.3 points

I remember one poster saying that many of the protesters were in fact supporting a terrorist group and being anti-jew. That poster was chastised and told that he/she was incorrect. I remember one poster saying that for many of the protesters it was in fact just a social gathering, a party, if you will. Now we see pictures and videos of them dancing, eating Dunkin Donuts, drinking lattes and listening to music. Again, he/she was told they were wrong. Now we have the second largest hammy supporting population in the world...on college campuses here in America. And apparently they love sushi and salsa dancing. That, the poster did not predict. The same poster also said that cell phones and the internet would not "catch on" and that the Huskers would win at least 9 games last year...soooooo there is that.3 points

At a certain point, shouldn't a person look themselves in the mirror and say "wow, I'm actually going to step in front of SCOTUS and say that attempting a coup attempt, ordering the military to commit a coup, or assassinating a political rival should be allowed by Presidential immunity. Maybe this entire political movement is f#&%ing stupid, enabled by the lowest dredges of society, and I probably shouldn't be doing this" I realize looking into the mirror and asking difficult questions is kind of difficult for a certain voter who enabled all this, but lets be honest here - Trump is a catastrophic idiot enabled by elements of society who cheer his anti-American authoritarianism on because it OwNs teH LiBs.3 points

I love it. I wonder if AOC remembers when parents at school board meetings were being labeled as domestic terrorists by some on the left. Maybe even the DOJ?3 points

Not to veer into P&R territory, but when Deion came to Colorado from an HBU and drew a lot of haters with him, Colorado gained a major profile and rooting interest from Black Americans, including those with no previous college allegiance and many who didn't otherwise follow football at all. Deion was a huge mainstream media story the first few games of the year, with millions of dollars swirling around him and the University, but it dropped off the map when Colorado plummeted to the bottom of the conference. I don't see the hype coming back, even if CU adds two wins and gets to a bowl game. If he sticks around and genuinely builds the program, he'll deserve the respect. That just feels like a long shot right now.3 points

Mike Riley's teams seem to have had a no compete clause. Especially on Saturdays. I guess you could say the smae for the SF years too.3 points

Maybe it’s been mentioned here before and I just missed it, but I’ve seen this mentioned a few times on Reddit. Seems middle eastern countries have a penchant for “donating” billions to US universities. https://www.thefp.com/p/campus-rage-middle-eastern-roots-qatar From 2015–2020, institutions that accepted money from Middle Eastern donors had, on average, 300 percent more antisemitic incidents than those institutions that did not. From 2015–2020, institutions that accepted undisclosed funds from authoritarian donors had, on average, 250 percent more antisemitic incidents than those institutions that did not. At least 200 American colleges and universities illegally withheld information on approximately $13 billion in undocumented contributions from foreign regimes, many of which are authoritarian.3 points

The primary difference being that, in this instance, it sets a precedent for authoritarianism. See above. Congrats on creating this. Wish I could say that it was difficult to see coming and that Trump really veered off course, but you know, decades of being a piece of s#!t kind of eliminates that excuse.2 points

There are examples all the time where defense attorneys either turn down cases or refuse to make a certain argument that the client wants because it's just wrong.2 points

Maybe this entire political movement is f#&%ing stupid, enabled by the lowest dredges of society, and I probably shouldn't be doing this" Do you even understand what a defense attorney does? Does this mean the argument is going to win? Hopefully not, but that is their job when they take the job.2 points

Isn’t it his lawyers job to make these arguments on his behalf? Even if they end of losing said arguments.2 points

If they give him this freedom, and he wins the election, there won't be any Democrats in the White House. The whole point is to delay, delay, delay. If Orange Man Bad wins, they grant him this immunity. If Biden wins, they'll very reasonably explain that no one is above the law. Everything that's happened after J6 has been according to Orange Man Bad's preferred timeline.2 points

So the coach is publicly promoting competition at that position vs publicly anointing a player during his first spring on campus? Sounds fine to me. We all know Dylan is going to be QB1 come game one barring some unforeseen circumstance. It’s Rhules job to get the most improvement out of all three of them in order to best prepare for the entire season. Telling the world that Dylan is far and away the best isn’t the way to do that.2 points

1. Yes. Duh. Obviously. We all watched them do this in 2020/2021. 2. These people should have been prosecuted three years ago. This is obviously timed to coincide with the 2024 election. Just enforce the law when you have evidence laws have been broken. - signed, Americans2 points
