He did hit the helmet as the rule says. But in reality he did not at all target, he was going for the ball when the contact happened and this is not at all uncommon with a few bodies near a ball. Looking forward to the first receiver getting called on that trying to catch a ball.

Yeah I get that "letter of the law" says its "targeting" but that's not what the rule was intended for. If they call that, then that's like saying there is targeting on every single play of a game, and especially when a RB lowers his crown.

We have too many basketball only kids in our school. They convince these kids to play basketball on these garbage AAU teams instead of being pushed and coached in other sports by coaches that have their best interest instead of lying to a 6'0 kid with an average skill set that they can get them a college scholarship in bball. It is awful.

At my high school growing up, if a kid didn't play on their summer aau team then they wouldn't start on the school team. If the kid tried to juggle between summer aau and summer legion baseball, they would also lose minutes in school season. Also, if you heard about that Bellevue HS team outside of Seattle, WA, the coach who got fired there for a plethora of reasons, he had a rule that players couldn't play any other sport if they wanted to play football.

Really counterproductive stuff from some of these coaches.

When this team is 10% as good as any of those 90's teams then we can use that as some kind of equivalency. Right now this team is struggling to get out of their own way with stupid penalties. So, when a guy who was suspended last week and ejected from his two previous games......yeah, it's a problem.
