Hooked on Huskers
What you think? Drone light shows can cost between $10k-$300k. Depends on the number of drones and software patterns. Memorial show my wild guess cost, $50k or less. It's amazing no head-on drone collisions Fireworks vs Drones 2 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I think they are really cool. I wonder what the maximum wind speed is that they can operate in? Quote Link to comment

teachercd
I was there and saw it live...I don't know if they show it on TV or not but it was really cool. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cdog923
I thought it was going to be a one-off for the volleyball match, but it's cool they are integrating it more regularly. They were probably able to pay for it with Steve Pederson's leftover fireworks budget. 1 3 Quote Link to comment

Micheal
I'm guessing this is an outside company they contract with it for it? I've seen drone shows at places like Walt Disney World and was surprised when first saw it for the Volleyball Day in Nebraska. 1 Quote Link to comment
Hooked on Huskers
I finally understand drone show setup (well kinda). Though fewer average drones (136). Similar to Memorial drone show (number of drones). Next time in Memorial show, put 1000 or more drones !!! 1 Quote Link to comment

Good to know, I thought it was tv graphics And yes, we at home can see it. I thought only we (tv watchers) could see it. Lol. Again thought it was tv graphics so how are the images made? Surely it’s not one drone per light dot. That would be a lot of drones in a small area Quote Link to comment

Actually I’d be a little surprised if it’s not done by some UNL students in one of the techy colleges. Buy the drones and have students choreograph and program. Good real world experience and much cheaper than an outside company. 2 Quote Link to comment

Legal drone piloting takes licenses and regulations you'd be surprised by - I'd be incredibly shocked if it was done in house. Quote Link to comment

Just found it. Fantasy Drone Shows out of Norfolk is who has been doing them. I suppose safety and legal concerns may make it difficult for it to be done in house. 1 Quote Link to comment
