Ohio Pete
With Fullmer leaving Tennessee, any news about Giles decommitting? SheepdogMark Well, replied with this elsewhere, but: On Tenn board (volnation.com), someone posted that Giles said he'll stay if the new coach keeps Ass't Coach Stan Drayton. Sounds like Drayton and AC Latrell Scott are the ace recruiters on the staff. On the other hand, Clemson made their ace recruiter head coach and they lost a boat load of recruits. SODAKSKERSFAN20
Looks like Giles is looking at a Plan B, but the plan doesnt involve the Huskers. He might be visiting South Carolina, others he might look at are Georgia and Boston College.. What did we do to this kid? Did we stop recruiting him altogether?? Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
From what I hear we are really on him right now. He is definitely unsure of things right now and I think we definitely have a shot with him. Just have to wait and see. Quote Link to comment
BigRedMan
On ESPN, It has him visiting South Carolina this weekend Quote Link to comment
Ohio Pete
And maybe Boston College later: Under Armour All-American running back Jarvis Giles (Tampa, Fla./Gaither) remains committed to Tennessee, but has scheduled an official visit to South Carolina for this weekend. Giles is weighing his options after Vols head coach Phillip Fulmer decided to accept the university's decision not to retain him as head football coach on Monday. Giles spoke with his Vols recruiter, running backs coach Stan Drayton, yesterday. Drayton, who recruited the Tampa area for Florida before joining the Tennessee staff this season, was a big part of Giles' decision to commit to UT. "I spoke with coach Drayton and he's not sure what is going to happen yet," Giles said. "He told me to just call him and he would keep me updated. He thinks that whoever the new coach is, he will keep him and coach (Latrell Scott, the Vols' wide receivers coach) because they are recruiters and all that." Giles plans to graduate from high school in December and enroll at the school of his choice in January. The Gamecocks and head coach Steve Spurrier are in dire need of a player to jumpstart their running game, which ranks last in the Southeastern Conference for the second consecutive season. Giles also has mentioned Boston College as a potential visit. Quote Link to comment
HSKRNOKC
We have a shot here... Quote Link to comment
DeathCultArmaggedon
From interviews I have read with Jarvis, it seems as if our coaches are not jumping on this chance like some schools are. He has said that Nebraska calls him, but not as frequently as other schools. Hopefully we are not being lackadaisical on this... Quote Link to comment
HuskerKing130
What the **ll? We need a playmaker like Jarvis Giles at running back. Why the **ll are our coaches not recruiting him hard? Quote Link to comment
huskers13
What the **ll? We need a playmaker like Jarvis Giles at running back. Why the **ll are our coaches not recruiting him hard? Chill out. John Talman from Huskers Illustrated said he would have a new story out tomorrow about Giles. He was told by Giles that Nebraska is going after him very hard right now. Its still going to be tough to land him because if Tennessee's new HC keeps the RB Coach, Stan Drayton then Giles said he would stick withn his committment. Drayton is one of the better RB coaches in the country, so it wouldnt be surprising if he was retained. Quote Link to comment
BigRedMan
So whats that new story on rivals say about our chances with him? Quote Link to comment

Having Tennessee losing to a team as terrible as Wyoming has to look really bad to big name recruits. There is no way they should lose to a team like Wyoming especially at home. Wyomings other wins are vs Ohio (2-8), vs North Dakota State (FCS), and San Diego State (1-9). Ouch. Quote Link to comment
