Tora! Tora! Tora!
I was expecting the two words to be offense and defense. I actually laughed out loud at that JTrain. It's going to be a pretty close game though. I think MU has a slight advantage in the trenches. I think Nebraska has a moderate advantage on special teams (where you guys are just plain amazing). Scarlet"N"Cream
I wish I knew why, but look back over the last 2 years, we flat out suck at home. Our teams never show up to play. I know everyone will disagree on here, but for some reason rd games are catalysts that make the team come together, home games for some reason make the players limp noodles. It's like they try to downplay the hype until they can't play. I've been a regular reader on this board for a couple of years now. One thing I've noticed is that Nebraska fans are as tough a critic as any I know. Could it be your team fears the home crowd judgement more than they do opposing crowds? Cha-Ching!! irafreak
Nebraska is going to beat MU. And the defense is going to be fine. You have to love the comments on this board. Everybody buried the team after the Texas loss. Now, after watching MU top OU...it's the same talk as last week. Of course my favorite comment was that Coz was back as DC. Pelini's crew gives up some points against a team with a track record for scoring a TON. And we are all ready to say it's Pelini's fault. Nice. Maybe we should fire those guys and hire Wade Phillips. I hear he's a really good defensive coordinator. You go after people for exaggerating the situation then you do the same. I haven't read one comment about Pelini in a negative way just because the defense struggled. The comment about cosgrove was a joke. By the way, were you also one that declared we would beat Texas? He will make sure the defense is ready to stop a pass happy MU attack. The is the strength of the NU defense. I expect some blitz packages to limit the ability of a non-mobile QB with a great arm. The pass rush will not get to the QB with the front four, you don't have to worry about him using his feet. Blitz with speedy DB/LB's and let the secondary cover. When passes are completed just wrap up and tackle. OU gave us some bigs plays and shot themselves in their own feet a few times. Play solid football and NU will be fine. This team seems to play better as an underdog. Not sure why, but that is what I see. Quote Link to comment

I See Red People
What a great thread.... thinking of why we will lose. I think the OP was making a joke, but c'mon guys, really? Yes, this team plays well on the road and inconsistent at home. I think that more than anything, it is a tribute to the high expectations a husker team playing in Lincoln faces. Quote Link to comment

In past seasons, the Tigers have proven they're a team that feeds off momentum during the reg season, and right now they have all the momentum in the world. That worries me. But if there's anything that should worry Mizzou in this game it's the fact that Nebraska plays best when it has a chip on its shoulder, and there are few bigger chips than being an underdog at home. holvy83
Mizzou's O is not half as potent as OSU. They do play hard nosed and go straight at you, but if the D buckles down and rattles them like last year this should be a good game for the Huskers. Plus here is my 2 words- Pinkel Factor! onlyHskrfaninIL
Its going to be like every game from here on out. Teams are going to play the zone read and force us to throw. If Martinez makes good decisions and the receivers catch it we will win. If not, we probably lose. Despite what we saw 2 days ago the D is good enough to shut/slow anyone down. Quote Link to comment
