redout22
Really showed some promise freshman year. Unfortunate to hear. Best of luck to him. Quote Link to comment
Chaddyboxer
Rex will be fine. I bet one of the incoming running backs will redshirt..whether it be Green or Heard..I don't know. We'll be fine. Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
In some ways I can see your point. We were using Rex a lot near the end of the season. He was definitely getting a workout. As good as he is I think your observation is valid. Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
You're right.. lets just call this year a wash and redshirt Rex for 2012....... Or we can trust sexy rexy! Quote Link to comment
The Maudfather
Looks like Rex is going to be man next year. Let's not forget that Rex saw some serious PT as a true freshman, so I fully expect much of the same with next year's team. I think we'll see some Braylon Heard and Aaron Green and who knows, maybe Collins Okafor, Lester Ward or Austin Jones steps up. Quote Link to comment

Braylon seems like the kind of back that can take a pounding more than Green so I think it would be awesome if he sort of stepped in and took what would have been Dontrayevous Robinson's role next year. Someone to give Burkhead a spell and still be able to get the tough yards when we need it. I suspect both Green and Heard will see time next year and possibly both fill this role. Hard to say right now though but I could possibly see this being the scenario. Quote Link to comment
junior4949
If Stanford can have an ironman playing linebacker on defense and fullback on offense, I think Rex can handle the load carrying the rock. Quote Link to comment

Tray is a thumper, like a poor man's Quentin Castille. Heard is a speedster, low center of gravity type of back. Personally, I can't wait to see the competition at RB this spring. 74Hunter
This conversation sounds so familiar... Do tell? Just saying, if Rex goes down, and neither Heard nor Green end up here, it's gonna be quite thin. Quote Link to comment
junior4949
I remember a time when either through suspension or injury we had to start our fourth string running back. He ended the day with around 150 yards. Those were the days. Quote Link to comment
