The Tyler Moore Explanation

We'll try this again, this time hopefully without the character assassination of the surrounding cast.

Tyler Moore will take semester off and consider return to Nebraska or FSU and UF

Former Countryside offensive lineman Tyler Moore, who left Nebraska over the weekend where he was expected to be the starting left tackle, will take the fall semester off to reassess his college options, according to his father Brian.

Those options? Returning to Nebraska, or enrolling at FSU or Florida.

But he is not considering USF, according to Brian Moore.

"He is back home. He had some things he wasn't happy about at Nebraska, and he's going to come home to get his head straight,'' he said. "He'll take classes at St. Pete College, and then in January he'll make a decision.''

Brian Moore, a 1985 graduate of Nebraska who played tight end there, said his son will set up meetings with the coaches at FSU and Florida, and could also return to Nebraska. "He loved Nebraska, he still loves Nebraska,'' Moore said. "Even when we were driving home yesterday, we were driving by Gainesville and I said maybe you'll be wearing the blue and orange, but he said I'd rather wear red.''

Bama it is then. Good ridance.

Where in the world are you getting this?

I feel like this is probably the most positive development that could have come out of the whole thing. Cooler heads are prevailing, but the fix, if it's possible, will take time. Best of luck to Tyler.

As for what he was unhappy about, probably a mix of homesickness, his girlfriend, and whether Nebraska was a good football situation for him, in any order.

Time To turn our focus to the players that are here and are committed to busting their ass as part of the University of Nebraska football program! The players that are as we speak working hard to put together a great football season. Players that understand that making a commitment to play college athletics requires hard work, dedication and sacrifice for one another and ones university! We still have a roster full of kids who have bought in and are working their ass off to bring this team championships! We at Nebraska don't believe in giving away seasons because of youth or schedule or anything else that's put it front of us.

The start of every new season is another chance for us to win championships. As any true husker fan will attest, the new season brings hope for that next championship run. No matter what we may say or type, there is something in the heart of every fan that thinks this may be our year!

Wish Tyler the best in his future and thank him for his service. Now let's get back to supporting the kids on our team who are still working hard to make us proud! Time to get behind all of the players and coaches who put in so many hours to make the team better. It's time to prove why we are the best fans in college football! GBR!

Sounds like he’s not likely to return. Which is too bad. He had the potential to be one of the Husker greats.

I wonder if the real story will ever come out? If it’s because he had a problem with a coach, well, that doesn’t bode well for Tyler. Players can’t dictate who coaches the team. Not at any level, from Pop Warner to the NFL. If it's because of the girlfriend thing, well, that would just be sad.

i think this boils down to he was homesick and missed his girl, and like it was said in the other thread, it affected his focus on football and school work. sometimes we lose sight that the most important thing these kids are getting is an education, and if he was having trouble focusing on his education then he needed to leave and get his mind right.

He sounds overwhelmed like any typical young college man. It must be hard for any college to keep 100+ plus guys headed in the right direction. At least he calmed down and is going to let life slow down while he figures it out. Good lucky buddy and hope to see you back in Lincoln.
