Bo and Paps

Recommended Posts

We beat Illinois, of course they suck. And if we beat Alabama, they would suck, too.

And when we give up 600 yards....everyone gives up 600 yards...our defense is young...we're the only team in football with a young defense....

Seriously why do you even post in a thread like this since you seem to despise such a large number of Nebraska FANS?

We didn't give up 600 yards. But there are some people that are still acting like we did.

Before the last td drive by Illinois, they were below 300 yards.

Spin Doctor on full duty tonight.

Sorry, but Bo absolutely was an embarrasment to the program today.

Paps deserves heat for all the defensive screw ups, but he is a grown man. Not a boy. And you do not treat your DC like that on the sidelines in front of his players, much less the entire television audience. You don't treat players like that either. You don't even treat bad children like that. This wasn't a momentary lapse either. Bo just kept going and going and going and every lip reader knew what he was saying and you could watch the players giving them a wide berth and that's a really, really bad look in the last minutes of a game you've won by 20 points. Kenny Bell of all people goes over to console Paps. Paps is in over his head, but this is bad head coaching mojo.

I watched the game with my neighbor. I had him over because he went to Illinois. He doesn't follow much college footba

ll because, well, he went to Illinois, and he knew nothing about the various Pelini controversies. But he knows a lot about coaching and sports and he thought the guy looked like a total a-hole. I really couldn't argue with him. This defense is on Pelini's head, and browbeating your own hand-picked DC like a spotty intern doesn't speak well of Bo Pelini. If you're not from Nebraska, you can't help rooting against this guy.

You guys, this is serious. Thus guy's neighbor AND skersfan's wife think Bo Pelini is a meanie

We have to ACT!

You know who doesn't give a sh*t with the way Bo chews into the players? The players, the only ones who matter. Do you think Nick Saban is an a-hole? What about Gary Patterson? What about Mark Dantonio? What about Will Muschamp? What about ANY COACH? You know what it's called? It's called coaching.

Football is a passionate game. You need to get over yourself.

This isn't even close to Bob Devaney getting "passionate" on the sidelines. This is Dad screaming at Mom in front of the kids. In public.

Even if Dad is right, it's wrong.

Bo needs to grow the f#*k up.

If Bo Pelini was doing his schtick at Michigan State or Colorado or practically anywhere else, Husker fans would be laughing our asses off at him, and rooting for things to go wrong, just to see him erupt.

this says more about us than him. right now we are making fun of kelly and we make fun of other coaches and schools all the time. just what we do. but honestly, in any high stakes profession (almost any profession), you better expect to get yelled at if you are performing inexcusably.

Hahahaa, after the game today I went shopping (Living in Oklahoma). Someone asked me if we had won and I replied "yes". After that, he asked if I thought Pelini should still be our coach. I laughed and said "yes" again. He walked away after that.

Seems that everybody but NU fans don't have a clue to what pressure we put on our team and staff and doesn't realize that we somewhat expect this.

I, for one, am happy to see this come back out of Bo. He had that passion when he first started here and when people got onto him about it, it just seems that the passion left when he became softer. As long as he doesn't go all Bob Knight on them, he can yell until he doesn't have a voice left, and then he can start signing it.

Give it a rest with anti-Bo crap already. The only thing embarrassing are the fans that whine about Bo being embarrassing.

Not in front of your customers, your fellow employees, your family and a television audience.

And if that's how you behave as a boss, people will think you're a dick. In any profession.

I thought that game was a lot of fun. I even saw a lot of hope for this maligned defense. But a lot of the fun went out the window when Bo couldn't save it for the woodshed, and just kept going and going and going off on Paps. And then chewing out the refs. In the last seconds of a game that had once been a lot of fun.
