Fuzzy
Yea, let's get this over with. Fire Bo Pelini, start a search for a high class coach who knows how to win only to settle for a mediocre young coach who critics say has a bright future in coaching. Things will be rough at first and folks will say, give him time just like we did for Pelini but he won't do any better than Pelini. Then folks will say well, it doesn't matter about his record, he brings much more to the table than Pelini ever did. Of course after a while folks will get restless and start to blame Eichorst for a lack of hitting the high profile coaches they wanted a while back. Â Yea, I'm ready for that road. 2 Quote Link to comment
Fast Jimmy
I refuse to accept meritocracy, and you should too! Â That makes no sense. Did you mean something else? Quote Link to comment
307husker
I think we all WANT a meritocracy, but not a mediocre meritocracy. Quote Link to comment
Hayseed
All I am hearing is fire BO fire BO Fire BO. I understand that we have not won national titles, or conference titles. But at least we are in the confr. title games. But hey fire him. Lets get a coach in here and watch what he does. In 3 to 5 years everyone will want to fire that coach. To bad we are a football nation that has to WIN NOW, maybe we should cheat at recruiting. Maybe we need to go on probation. Maybe we just need to be happy that we are in Title confr. games, and hopefully get to a BCS game if we can win a title. We aint been on probation and we we don't cheat. I understand we have lost games that we should not lose. But so do some of the best teams in the nation loose to teams they shouldn't. Mich to a div II team. Hey maybe we need to hit rock bottom with a new coach to value what we have had. We (Nebraska) can't get no great coach, because of money. Ne will not pay big dollars.Coach Bo is doing his best to teach young redshirts and freshman to play at this level. But what the heck Fire him get it over with. Make Husker nation happy. Â I doubt there will be any kneejerk reactions from the NU administration. We don't want to jump out of the frying pan into the fire....I'm not sure where you're supposed to land when you jump out of the frying pan...into the gravy???....I don't really know....but I doubt a bunch of angry Loonatics will be calling the shots if they decide to make a change. Husker no ka oi
Yeah I love going to those conference championship games and watching a butt whooping of epic porportions. But yeah we made the championship game. Quote Link to comment
Guy Chamberlin
I don't think six seasons is an unfair amount of time to judge a coach. Â And yes, while the college football world will tut-tut how the fanbase is willing to fire a coach who wins 10 games a season, I think every knowledgeable college football insider recognizes a profound problem with Bo Pelini teams along with his prickly PR persona, and wouldn't argue with the hot seat he's on. Â Oh yeah, Bo Pelini also makes $3 million dollars a year. According to the meritocracy, he's underperforming. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
we have recurring, systemic problems.....that won't go away until Pelini leaves... Quote Link to comment
