Ratt Mhule
Fake Bo Pelini @FauxPelini 2h .@BWWBowl FYI we will not even consider playing in your bowl unless you have all the sprinklers removed from the field 4 Quote Link to comment
mrandyk
I think there are more this year, that is if you count me. I certainly remember being disappointed last year, but not angry. This year is a lot different for me. The stupid mistakes, year 6, easy schedule, sloppy football, last year before the playoff system... That said, you might be right. If he wins this bowl game that is the magic "9 wins" and he may find a way to do it every year for eternity. This is Husker purgatory. hard to say. this year was definitely different for me. i have been hopeful for the next season every year bo has been here. it is a lot harder to keep that up after this year. Personally, I don't know how any fans had any optimism after Wisconsin put 70 on us. I expected 4 losses this year, and it looks like Pelini needed lots of luck not to do much worse. Danimal
I don't want Texas Tech. Bad matchup against our secondary. Maybe with a month to prepare we could get Evans and SJB ready but it would be a shootout and we would need a healthy offensive line to boot. Rather have Texas, maybe the mojo spell they have over us could be broke. I disagree. We can defend the pass better than the run, Tech's D isn't very good, and Tech hasn't beaten a team worth noting all year. Texas could have Ash back and they will be looking to make Mack a winner in his last game Quote Link to comment

So yes, Texass still has their 'mojo'. I don't think anyone is paid-off, they don't need to when good ol' boy bias does the job. The bulk of the 12's refs are Texans. Not surpringly Texan teams tend to get the calls. UT is the state's flagship school and the head of officating a freaking UT grad. Not surprising that the horns get the most calls. The 12's officiating gene-pool is just way too shallow. They need more refs from other states and the head of officiating needs to be from outside the 12 footprint altogether. Quote Link to comment

If you think we are lucky to be where we are, I'm sorry, but that just proves you're crazy. I'm not making excuses, but we had just as many bad things happen, if not more, to us this year than good things. If you're going to pull the luck card, then the rest of the country is lucky we aren't undefeated (doesn't make much sense huh?). Quote Link to comment
southernoregonhusker
Thanks for the links. Are we Big Ten 4 or 5? If Ohio State loses to Michigan State, would that change our bowl? Where did we end up ranked in B1G? It doesn't matter. The bowls take who they want. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Thanks for the links. Are we Big Ten 4 or 5? If Ohio State loses to Michigan State, would that change our bowl? Where did we end up ranked in B1G? It doesn't matter. The bowls take who they want. The Gator and BWW bowls apparently flop order of selection each year, thus the 4/5 designation. But that is the order in which they get to pick, not necessarily the order of finish in the conference - although the bowls do get pressured to not pick too far out of line. Quote Link to comment

So basically, he is gone and we will be facing a Texas team playing their first game for Jon Gruden! We may lose by 63 points! Quote Link to comment

I think it would be more of a deal where he's nudged into "stepping down". He announces his retirement after the season and that the bowl will be his last game. Quote Link to comment

Hunter94
I think you're right, if he loses this bowl I think he loses a lot of fans. I'm not saying the program loses fans, but I think with all of his shenanigans, losing against K-state, Texass or TT will be a lot of ammo for the anti-Bo crowd. (Not that anything happens this year, but next year will definitely be put up or shut up time) a lot of us said that last year. so, you never know. maybe one more year, into perpetuity? yes, we must learn to embrace mediocrity! Texas could have Ash back and they will be looking to make Mack a winner in his last game The weird part is that at the beginning of the year it was definitely that way against the pass, but as the season wore on in seems as though this has really switched. I think it has more to do with having the right people in the right positions to stop the run and call plays on D. But, the pass D is good on 1st and 2nd most of the time but seems to be pretty bad on 3rd and long when we know it is coming. Anyway, I would really like to see us play Texass this year, if not then Ksux would be good also Quote Link to comment
