I don't think we're working to establish the run enough on 1st down right now. I wonder if that's by design and they're trying to work on the pass game early in the season, knowing what we have in the run game.

 

why not use what works, guess I just don't get that

Because this is the time of year to be working on and developing that pass game -- especially the shorter and intermediate stuff. I don't think (or hope not) that it will be used as our bread and butter when we get down to the tough parts of the schedule. But I do think it will be important to get that operation polished up while we can afford to, so it's more available to us should we need it.

We're averaging 8.2 yards per pass and 8.3 yards per rush. Looks like both are working pretty well.

 

 

"Looks like" being the key word. We have a few long runs and a lot of runs for a yard or less.

 

 

Kind of like we have a few long pass plays and several incompletions. That's how averages work. Take the good and the bad.
