Zaimejs
22 carries each, but um... yeah. Can he please be talked about when they talk about the Heisman yet? Quote Link to comment
Hayseed
Ameer is #4 on the Heisman watch list I just looked at..........and probably rising after today. Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
I don't want to take anything away from Imani because he had a solid night, but this does highlight the extreme talent of Ameer, when put behind the same OL (though the play calls are not exactly equal). Unrelated, but really glad to see Imani with so many touches. It was great to see us grind out a game without Ameer when it was well in hand. It was also nice to see Imani get his. He has been very unselfish (team-oriented) and patient. Quote Link to comment
ladyhawke
Ameer is #4 on the Heisman watch list I just looked at..........and probably rising after today. Yet the media rarely mention him! They only talk about the top 3. However, I was excited to see that he won the Capital Bowl Impact Play of the Week last week. His picture was right there when you opened espnu's website. National attention is what we need. WE know that Ameer should win the Heisman-it's the rest of the nation that needs to know. A win against MSU would really help seal the deal. Quote Link to comment
Norhusker
Beating Michigan State next week will elevate Ameer's chances for the Heisman even if he only gets a 100 yards rushing. We just don't get much respect as a team which is deserved at least up to now. I watched the end of the Minnesota Michigan game and the idiot commentator mentioned the Gophers as being the likely front runners for winning the west division. Talked about the other team Wisconsin and almost forgot to mention Nebraska. He said Nebraska has a lot concerns whatever that means. Bottom line is that we are an after thought to many of the sports media. Beating Michigan St. can change that. This team seems to be our best chance in a long time to start regaining some recognition. Quote Link to comment

The beauty is that all we have to do is keep winning and everything else will take care of itself. Ameer's chances at the Heisman will grow exponentially with every win we get. Gurley is out because Georgia already has 2 losses and probably will end with 4. Ameer's biggest competitor will be Mariota. If we both go undefeated, Mariota gets it because he's a QB. Don't agree that should be the case, but that's what will happen. If Oregon loses and we win out, we have another Heisman to put in our case. Ameer is the best running back that I have seen in YEARS in college football. Quote Link to comment

Even though the Dawgs will almost certainly drop out of the rankings within the next month Gurley will continue to be the frontrunner so long as he gets it done on the field. (I'm guessing Georgia will be #25 or #24 today, after the USC loss.) Gurley is the best RB in the SEC. Therefore it's assumed he's the best in the nation. Quote Link to comment

Danny Bateman
The only thing I will say about this is that it will be interesting to how the battle for the top RB in the nation plays out between Gurley and Ameer. THey had very comparable games yesterday: Ameer: 22 for 208, 9.5 avg, 3 TDs. Gurley: 15 for 198, 13.2 avg, 3 TDs. I think Gurley gets the love from the national media because A) he was a higher profile recruit and has been in the spotlight before and B) ESPN nuthugs SEC something turrible. But AA is definitely on the come. However, something to think about: For the season: 5 catches for 108, 2 TDs. Gurley 9 catches for 29, 0 TDs. Ameer is a much more complete RB than Gurley. Gurley truly is a beast running the ball, but doesn't offer a whole ton out of the backfield. It is a shame TB doesn't put Cross in the backfield and split Ameer out more. I have a feeling if you could get the kid isolated on a LB and hit him on a 5 yard out or in or drag or whatever, he could bring a whole new dimension to our O. Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
Ameer needs to add a KO TD or 2. Quote Link to comment
Zaimejs
We just need a ring to give Ameer his proper place in Husker history. Watching the scores, it just doesn't seem that any teams this year are completely dominant. Even the top ten teams have scrubs scoring big points on them. Next weekend is HUGE. Quote Link to comment

I am confused... He put Ameer 3rd in his list... Are you mad? If you mean "insane," then apparently, yes. :"> I read the list on that page that looked like this: "Todd Gurley, Kenny Hill, Nick Marshall and Melvin Gordon all went off Saturday, while Amari Cooper and Marcus Mariotawere idle during their bye week"; then, I started typing without reading the link that I obviously missed. I've since had caffeine. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
If the Heisman were really what it claims to be (most valuable player) then Tevin Coleman would be a frontrunner over either of them. Quote Link to comment

I've been hard on Ameer due to his fumbling issues and lack of top end speed, but i think he certainly is in the top 3 or 4 all time backs here. Quote Link to comment
