Reading that the decision might come on Sunday. So more than likely the next coach is still coaching yet this weekend. RIGHT?? (...)

If not, and you have your guy, why not announce now?

Isn't there the 7-day job opening posted period, or 10 days, or whatever it is? That's probably it.

Sunday would make 7 days exactly since Bo's firing.

I read on another post that Eichorst is not taking calls from coaches interested in the job. There is no recruiter firm helping him and few rumors from the Athletic Dept about who may be under consideration. Maybe it all means, that Eichhorst has a man lined up now and is waiting for the job opening window to expire? I would like to know because I am curious and am also worried about the impact on recruiting.

A source close to the program tells me #Huskers will announce Jim Tressel as the new head coach on Saturday, with Frost as OC/Ass. HC. #GBR

Travis J Morgan: Marketing Director at WinnaVegas Casino Resort. Former TV Sports Broadcaster. From Walthill, Nebraska (Population: 850).

not likely, IMHO...Tress yes, Frost, not as an OC......his next move will be a HC, somewhere.

That would like up with reports I seen in twitter. I can't remember who. But someone reported yesterday they were watching the planes. A private jet owned by a major Nebraska donor landed yesterday afternoon in Columbus Ohio. Dont know how credible the person is however

Guys, Jim Tressel does NOT live in Columbus. Tressel lives in Youngstown in the Presidents house. You guys can watch planes all you want, but anything going on in Columbus is irrelevant at this point. Tressel lives in Youngstown, so unless you see flights in/out of Youngstown or Akron Canton this is all moot.

I know I dare not say it in the Sock thread, but I just can't see Tressel coming. With Eichorst talking about values and such at the presser, I find it hard to beleive that it will be Tressel. Add to that no one in the Nebraska media seems to be getting behind it, it just seems too far fetched.

The Nebraska media isn't getting behind anyone that I've heard of.

HC: Alabama offensive coordinator, Lane Kiffin? Perhaps he's matured and learned a bit in his travels. Might his dad, Monte Kiffin want to return to the Nebraska DC job to work with his son?

The problem is that Alabama is going to be playing yet for weeks (likely). I'm not clear on how soon one can poach and announce another coach in that situation.

Was just going to state that myself, not enough people talking about Wittingham as an legit option. Very good hard nosed head coach that has great ties to both Texas and Florida. Much like Patterson at TCU, he had to move his program from the MWC to a P-5 conference. Took some adjusting but he is getting it back up to the top again.

Wisconsin made a similar hire in going out to Utah and grabbing Gary Anderson (was Wittingham's DC when they went 13-0). They are very similar type of coaches in make-up.
