brophog
LOL The comments on this board are amazing! somebody throws out some wild statement and within a short period of time it has become gospel according to one of the many disciples and from there, it is used as clear and convincing proof of the existence of forces of nature as of yet unheard of by modern science! Back when Cally was getting canned and a new coach acquired, the various boards went through an excessive amount of rumors. Everyone had a secret source. So, I started my own rumor.....about a sandwich. No source but it was nearing that time the McRib comes back out. The @&)$ing sandwich rumor spread. Quote Link to comment
darkhorse85
Cody Glenn Glenn didn't move 1/2 through a season. The 6-0, 235-pound Glenn made the switch midway through spring ball in 2008 and excelled in the Huskers’ defensive scheme. I was just making the comment about how a running back can make the switch. I wasn't commenting on the timing. Quote Link to comment
NUance
There are carries for Cross at RB. He'll see the field. Some. And the couple of LBs we have left on the depth chart are most likely way better that Cross would be if he switched positions right now. No way this happens. It's just a message board rumor. 84HuskerLaw
I think Cross should have moved to LB after his Soph year. See if he can rush the passer off the edge. Teach him to do that. It is time to get creative. We need to get athletes on the field. Other players that need to move positions Bush move him to DE and put about 25 lbs on him you are using his athletic ability. Bush could play a lot of spots LB, TE, WR. You could move some of those back up RB to LB. Grant Nabity could play LB or DE. Some of these guys need to decide they want to get on the field. Jeff Mackovica was a 4th string I-back he puts on about 20l lbs and becomes the starting FB on one of the greatest teams ever 1995. The Mackovica boys were all fullbacks although very capable at being I backs as well EXCEPT for the fact that all of our top 5 I backs ran about 4.4 or LESS L.P. was the 'slowest' of the bunch at 4.4. Joel was about 4.55 and would easily be a starter at I Back or Fullback this year. Joel was the BEST fullback and one of the ten best football players in Husker history in my opinion. The Mackovica boys were tough as nails. Quote Link to comment
Thanks_Tom RR
Emoni Cross would be a great LB! Or not. Whatever. Quote Link to comment
MichiganDad3
He may end up being a DL the way the injuries are piling up this year. Quote Link to comment
Nebhawk
If he is an athlete, put him on the field. Find a spot for him. Sounds like good coaching if that happens. Sounds like what was left here in the cupboard was barish. This is a sign that what we have isn't good enough. What we have has been mislabeled along the way. Find some talent and get it on the field. That talent is doing no good sitting behind 4 other RBs. If the guy can rush the passer at DE, why not try it. Quote Link to comment
lo country
Again, if true, props to Riley for seeing the need to change anything possible for the wins. Like burning Stevensons shirt. In regards to Cross, Glenn had success as did a later with to DB in SJB. Athletes can adapt.... Quote Link to comment
MichiganDad3
I hope the rumors are true about J. Stevenson and Cross. Maybe this is an indication that MR is willing to make changes. Hopefully, this includes changes about how often to throw the ball when it is windy. Quote Link to comment
