Jeremy
I hope we don't do the same as mizzou. 1 Quote Link to comment
84HuskerLaw
I don't think one should count Missouri out of bowl until it is officially stated by Missouri ADept. 1 Quote Link to comment
NUance
I'd rather see tOSU go to the Rose. There just aren't many—if any at all—coaches who do a better job of preparing for a bowl game than Urban Meyer. It'd be nice to see B1G Rose Bowl win. Quote Link to comment

knapplc
Good for Mizzou. Have some pride for Chrissakes. It's a game. They're playing a game. It isn't life or death. Your self worth isn't wrapped up in it, or if it is, that's your fault. Let them have their extra practices and if it bothers you so much, don't watch them play. 2 Quote Link to comment
4skers89
I suppose it makes sense for Mizzou. It looks like they don't have a new coach yet so the extra practice isn't really important and it's not like the current coaches would be that motivated. 1 Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
I don't agree that Iowa/Ohio State will go if MSU beats Iowa. Not if UNC beats Clemson. If UNC beats Clemson they should go instead of a 2nd Big Ten team. They're ranked 8th now but winning a conference is important to the committee. If they win they'll leapfrog Stanford (2 losses), Ohio State (already shown they can't beat one of the other 3 playoff teams), the loser of Iowa/MSU (already shown they can't beat one of the other 3 playoff teams) and Clemson (team they will have just beaten). I dunno why Stewie is stating OSU/B1G championship loser will make it as a fact like he actually knows. If Clemson wins then he's probably right, because how can you put a 2 loss Stanford (thanks Northwestern) into the playoffs? The only other choice besides Ohio State, if UNC loses, is Houston. And they're not a good choice. This year would have been one where an undefeated no name team makes it into the playoff. If Houston hadn't lost they would be in, imo. Quote Link to comment
brophog
Will we lose money if we go to a bowl? I recall reading somewhere that the cost of taking the team, band, and other supporting cast members to a lower bowl often costs more than the payout. Very often the case. The bowl system has a lot of drawbacks. Quote Link to comment
brophog
Surprised no one caught this.... https://twitter.com/chongo70/status/671030253784010752 It's been a long time since bowls were about the reward of a season. This season is merely the pinnacle of a trend that started long ago. Quote Link to comment
Dr. Strangelove
Will we lose money if we go to a bowl? I recall reading somewhere that the cost of taking the team, band, and other supporting cast members to a lower bowl often costs more than the payout. Very often the case. The bowl system has a lot of drawbacks. As far as I know, all bowl money goes into a pool that all Big 10 teams share evenly. Nebraska would get a large payout with the bowl game or without it.
