PTPer
...that what the coaching staff saw on UCLA's game tape was that much different from what was seen for Illin', Wisky, Purdunk & NerdWestern? Poor, poor & poorer game preps by these guys. I will NEVER trust them after this year. Should've been an easy 9-wins, maybe 10th over Jerkeyes. B1G 'ship game = hard to beat MSU twice. At worst, a trip to Rose. Instead, we get this toilet bowl trip and confusion about team's true identify. Whatta joke, hope smiley wises up or retires soon. 2 Quote Link to comment
Elf
This was a poor game prep? I'm not sure what you're getting at here? Are you trying to say the coaches did a good job last night or a bad one? Or are you just railing on them in general...just asking... 7 Quote Link to comment
PTPer
I'm saying we NEVER would've been in the chicken bwol if they would've game prepped correctly against Ill., Pur., Wisc. & NW. Not hard to figure out. 1 Quote Link to comment
husker B-rent
He's saying that they should have used the same game plan all season. In theory that would make a lot of fans happy! Myself included. However, you also run the risk of being too predictable. Some of those points last night were because ucla didn't game plan for us to play that style. 1 Quote Link to comment
lo country
I would like to think that they did it "their" way for 12 games and realized this was a redemption game and came out like NU of old. Next season will be very telling. Almost all of the offensive firepower coming back. 1 Quote Link to comment

Not hard to figure out. Not sure why you are lumping Wisconsin and Northwestern with Purdue and Illinois. Wisconsin had the 4th best run D and Northwestern had the 14h best run D in the country. Against Wisconsin, we had a 37/28 run/pass ratio. We ran for 196 yds (double their average), that's 5.3 ypc. Pretty damn good on the ground against them. For reference, Alabama had 6.4 ypc and Iowa had 3.6 ypc against Wisconsin. On the other hand, we couldn't get a thing going on the ground against Northwestern. We rushed 38 times for 82 yards, 2,2 ypc. We did throw the ball 48 times, but 2.2 ypc probably had something to do with that. But by all means continue to rail against the coaching staff after a good win... 15 Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
Meh...blah, blah, blah! Huskers win and people here still have to find a way to bash the staff! 1 Quote Link to comment
skersfan
WOW! Not even a day to be happy, celebrate. Hope you had a Merry Christmas, and praying for a Happy New Year for you. Take a deep breath smile and remember we won a game, knocked off a playoff team. And we did it with less talent. Something must be going somewhat right. 2 Quote Link to comment
Enhance
Have fun being miserable. You too, or do you root for Iowa? I'm disappointed in the season, but last night was a ton of fun. And, obviously, Riley is going to be the program's coach at least through 2016. You might as well cheer up and gain a positive outlook or else you're going to just be a pesky, pissed off fan all next year. Where's the fun in that? Sports are supposed to be fun - is it really enjoyable to make it depressing? 2 Quote Link to comment
