The General Election

Recommended Posts

A politician expresses roundly condemned and distasteful thoughts, then goes back and then doubles down -- I know, it's shocking, right?

And oh, man, BRB. I missed this:

Naaaa....his campaign isn't built on hatred of certain groups.

These particular politicians will lose more votes if they *don't* double down.

Suburban women will come running after this.

Good lord.

“I moved on her and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump is heard saying. It was unclear when the events he was describing took place. The tape was recorded several months after he married his third wife, Melania.

“Whoa,” another voice said.

“I did try and f--- her. She was married,” Trump says.

Trump continues: “And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’”

“I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married,” Trump says. “Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”

At that point in the audio, Trump and Bush appear to notice Arianne Zucker, the actress who is waiting to escort them into the soap opera set.

“Your girl’s hot as s---, in the purple,” says Bush, who’s now a co-host of NBC’s “Today” show.

“Whoa!” Trump says. “Whoa!”

“I’ve gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump says.“You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful -- I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”

“And when you’re a star they let you do it,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”

“Whatever you want,” says another voice, apparently Bush’s.

“Grab them by the p---y,” Trump says. “You can do anything.”

Official Trump campaign response:

Nice that he tried to take a swing at Bill on the way down.

This can't even be that stunning to any casual observer of Trump's history.

From the Politico article:

“I’ve gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump says of one woman. “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the pu&&y. You can do anything.”

"Game over," said former Obama White House aide Tommy Vietor. "He is discussing sexual assault."

His frickin' response was "Bill is worse?".

I am officially out of views for the month on Washington Post - but I'm admiring the heck out of Farenholdt.

Please, Trump supporters tell me why this is excusable? How can you continue to defend him?

Bill Clinton is not running for president.

Now that's out of the way, if this is normal locker room banter that all guys participate in, maybe men shouldn't run for president.

That's obviously not true though. And even if it was, Trump isn't a damn 16 year old. I can forgive a teenager bragging about the first time they had sex because a teenager still has a chance to grow out of it.

I can accept that probably everyone might make lewd or crude comments in private company, and that's fine (if embarrassing, when made public). But that's an important point brought up by Vietor: what he's describing here, cavalierly at that, is sexual assault.

And he had an opportunity to walk that back. He declined.

to me, it's not just the vulgary and cavalier and childish attitude toward sexual assault (yes, that's exactly what he's bragging about), it's that he's just so damn pathetic.

He's supposed to be a man, but he has to solicit sex through furniture purchases? He can't even offer a legitimate apology?

I don't care if you're against a "PC culture" - if you can't recognize the impotent mewlings of a silver spooned incompetent, then I don't know what to tell you.

This person cannot be allowed to become president.
