The General Election

I actually was going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume his stupid halting delivery caused his original statement "look at her. look at her words. does that? does that make sense" caused people to (fairly) misinterpret his response to the initial accuser. Sort of like how I thought he was unfairly attacked for his miscommunication about those with PTSD not being tough enough.

Setting aside the fact that we afford a president who can't communicate even basic messaged, this second statement in "denial" of the accusations just proves what a disgusting fool he is.

The fact people cheered... it's just scary.

Gee, I wonder how in the world he ever developed that kind of Neanderthal attitude?

Honest to god this one bothers me the most. At a time when there are hundreds of people surrounding Trump and his family talking strategy and what they should say and should not say in pubic because of how it could be perceived he CHOOSES to say this. Imagine what he's like on a daily basis. He's an embarrassment for his generation.

At the end of the day I don't think it would have been that ugly for the Democrats to nominate Sanders. It would be a shift, but Sanders, for all his weaknesses, is not a total loon: he's a lifelong politician with a good heart and somewhat more liberal instincts than most.

I can live with an America that has two parties led by people like this, one tending conservative, one tending liberal.

But yeah, on Trump. I don't doubt that many men have done inappropriate things in their past (maybe not in this kind of volume). But normally, when faced with someone pointing out how it was a bad thing to do, you own up to it. You regret it and try your hardest to make amends. I could have gotten on board (not in policy, but with the person, in a world where he didn't say all that other stuff) with a Trump who came out forcefully against sexual harassment and genuinely demonstrated, with rhetoric *and* action, that he totally rejects that side of him now.

This is some real double down, circle the wagons garbage.

It's just so gross to watch people defend a guy - who says "when your rich and famous you can do whatever you want," who has a history of attacking accusers and suing everyone who bothers him, who is worth probably many hundreds of millions of dollars thanks to daddy's money - by saying "his accusers should have come out before a tape of his self-damning words was released."

This is a guy who says he'll destroy anyone who opposes him.

I think most people in their situations would keep quiet until publicly vindicated by his own admissions.

And a pretty impeccable record.

You and I are going to disagree on this one. I think Sanders is a goodhearted loon and that his loony proposals are ultimately counterproductive. His socialism is far more left than any mainstream liberal in national politics. BUT, I probably would have voted for him over Trump because I don't think any respectable person can look in a mirror and live with casting a vote for Trump.

And my problem isn't even as much with the sexual harassment and assaulting, but about the deep character flaws his cavalier and pigish attitude reveal about him. This is a guy who has an enormous ego and inflated sense of self-worth and every comment he makes reveals just how fragile he is both intellectually and emotionally.

I say this while acknowledging my ignorance, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but is it impeccable because he basically achieved nothing of consequence in Congress?

The latest leaks mix false information with text extracted from real, stolen emails, he said. This is a slow-roll political attack on the entire political infrastructure of America. It is Watergate its literally Watergate. They did what Nixon couldnt do.

At the least, you aren't alone in that speculation, BRB.
