They are considerable in number, so they're a large minority as minorities go. But that allows them to still feel victimized by the elites -- a feeling shared by many centrists. And when you've placed God and manifest destiny on your side, you don't look back or engage you doubts. You're fully empowered. If you've been taught to view the media, the academics, and the scientists as the enemy, no facts are going to slow you down.

 

The biggest Nazi parallel I see is that Hitler tapped into the entire German people feeling humiliated by World War I and began casting around for blame. It wasn't so much the Jews at first; it was the feckless political parties, including socialists, right/center appeasers, and old school Hindenburg loyalists that had sold out Germany to the global interests. Wouldn't it be nice for Germans to feel great again?  Hitler did his best work in beer halls and stadiums. 

 

The ruling parties and plenty of Germans recognized Hitler and the Nazis as thugs and theatrical provocateurs, but considered them an extremist minority about to wear out their welcome. And of course the right center party figured they could use the Nazis for certain needs and coalitions, but otherwise keep them in check.

Thankfully it didn't.  But Trump was also already campaigning/denying since the last election night.  There was still hope that he'd return.  2024 "should" slam that door on MAGA and I'm a bit nervous that some folks are going to get desperate.  We already hand a Jan 6, it's not crazy to be worried if we "only" have another one of those.

for Heaven's sake, look at the actual released video's of what you call and insurrection on J6... The only severe crime done on that day was by a DC police officer and the fbi plants. It's a travesty that so many people are unjustly being criminalized. So tired of both sides that spout opinions while ignoring facts of which, the DC J6 event was then and is still far less costly to actual vandalism then any one of the multitudes of protests that occurred for real crimes. Yet we constantly here from both sides how terrorized our Politian's were. It takes less than 15 mins of research to see just how peaceful the J6 protest was. (the security was literally escorting people around showing them the building, scary right?)

 

Please do this country a favor and put it away. Politian's are liars regardless of what side they're on. They speak, they lie!! Most of the national media too. Tell that to the people who died and were severely injured.  The cost of riot (insurrection in this case) isn't always measure in dollars and cents.  This insurrection was against the very heart of our democracy - led by a cowardly thug who sat in the WH throwing ketchup at the wall.  There is much more at stake than just a building - what did it do to our nation's psych, our image and respect for laws and institutions.   All of those riots you listed in the 1960s and 70s - I remember - I lived through all of them and saw them all on the news.  I also remember their affect on the moral and mindset of the nation - affects that lasted longer than the burning of a building. 

 

Wake up and get out of the cult thinking frame of mind.

It's like we all didn't watch the "peaceful protests" unfold live, listened to the speech that incited the mob, and somehow our eyes ard ears deceived us because in reality it was all pulled off be FBI plants and a rogue cop. 

 

Even though it was all there for us to see live and to hear directly from the horses a$$, it was the media boogeyman that tricked us. Got it. Goebbels would be proud the gullible types from his day still walk the earth and are easy targets.

The reason the word "insurrection" will always be accurate is because the mob was breaking into the building to stop the certification of the 2020 election that was taking place at that moment, a disruption President Trump was encouraging through a variety of channels including demanding his own vice-president subvert the Constitution. Many of the perpetrators announced their intentions prior to arriving in Washington, promoted them live during the Capitol invasion, bragged about them afterwards, and plead guilty when arrested.  

 

If you want to offend these brave patriots who were trying to save America from Joe Biden, tell them they were just being tourists that day.

Well stated.  I hope the SC considers those very points when they look at the Colorado ballot case coming their way.  No matter how you slice it, J6 was an insurrection and the 14th Amendment has a remedy.

Most true patriots felt very upset that a group of people were breaking windows and scaling the walls of the US Capitol Building trying to enter and ransack Congressional offices.  This wasn’t a group of people looting a WalMart.  FFS man!
