desertshox
Lovie can have all the time he wants. At illinois. Now if he was at NU he better have won a conference title for NU the year prior to his hiring. 1 Quote Link to comment

They are still 2 years away from being a 6ish team win though. They basically play all freshmen and sophomores right now. And 15 of them transferred out after this season. Quote Link to comment

Lovie Smith did pretty good in Chicago for what he had to work with (Rex Grossman at QB) and he finished 89-87 as an NFL coach. (just over .500 - this looks familiar) He's coached in the NFL so he's obviously a great coach and he'll be an amazing college coach. Just imagine what he can do at a place with tons of resources like Illinois once he starts to recruit great players. Edited March 12, 2018 by HS_Coach_C Quote Link to comment

ScottyIce
Did he de-commit yet? 1 Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Sounds like we may be doing some work here. If that's the case, a good game tomorrow would probably help. 1 Quote Link to comment
ScottyIce
Did he ever even visit here? Can’t remember Quote Link to comment

Stumpy1
We would have to recruit him for the offense if we want a shot. Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
LOL....this is an interesting recruiting thread to read through. Good example of why nobody should get all worked up one way or the other on what an 18 year old kid decides to do. 4* (almost 5 star) kid commits two years before he graduates. De-commits when programs like OSU, Oregon, UCLA, Baylor start showing interest Commits to Illinois.....of all places Now....looking around again. Meh....if he signs here....great...if not....so be it. 3 Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
I'd definitely keep working on this one, I don't think Lovie will be the coach come NSD. Quote Link to comment

I don't know, he has a 5 star QB committed and this guy. If I'm Illinois, I'm not firing him yet. Quote Link to comment
