BigRedBuster
I thought this needed it's only thread because it didn't fit anywhere else and it's so important. I wish the American public wasn't so gullible. https://apnews.com/981fa961d82943c88e5270595c473958/FBI-director:-Public-should-know-of-agenda-driven-fake-news?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=AP_Politics 1 Link to comment
NM11046
I'm not sure if its gullibility or apathy. People just don't care for the truth. If it requires them to search and evaluate and think forget it. "Spoon feed me talking points please." 2 Link to comment
Moiraine
I think it's worse than apathy. I think confirmation bias is awful now because the internet has every conclusion you could ever want to make. You want to think the Democrats made everything up and has the FBI and CIA wrapped around their fingers? Just do a Google search and you'll be "proven" right. Sorry - didn't read the article. Assuming it says not to be so gullible. I'm not sure it's gullibleness. It's more like not wanting to know an inconvenient truth that challenges one's world view. Link to comment
BigRedBuster
The gist of the article. WASHINGTON (AP) FBI Director James Comey said Americans should be aware of foreign efforts to undermine confidence in U.S. elections and mindful of the possibility that what they're reading might be part of an organized disinformation campaign. ................ "The most important thing to be done is people need to be aware of the possibility that what they're reading has been shaped by troll farms looking to push a message on Twitter to undermine our confidence" about the electoral process, Comey said. Personally, I think Alex Jones is a total loon. He's one of the people in right-wing media who has repeatedly insisted that the shooting at Sandy Hook was faked. He was one of the alt-right morons pushing the #PizzaGate narrative. I think Alex Jones is a racist, a bigot, a neo-nazi white nationalist, and all around terrible person. So yeah, just based off of the diarrhea which comes out of his mouth on his radio show, not only is he unfit to be a parent, he's unfit to be a human being. Link to comment

Except for the bit about being unfunny, paranoid delusional, a pathalogical liar, and taking his shirt off when no one wants to see that s***, you're spot on there. 3 Link to comment
BigRedBuster
I believe this is a major issue within our country. If nobody listens to the other side with the actual intent of trying to understand instead of arguing, we are in big trouble because propaganda becomes WAY more effective. 2 Link to comment

We know that Trump isn't very deep - when it comes to being a policy wonk- he's not. But Bannon is. Who's message is getting out - look at Bannon's polictics and you will find out. Link to comment
