The 2020 Presidential Election - Convention & General Election

You complain about everyone except the people who actually rig the system to f#&% over people like you. Thats why the 10 poorest and least educated states in the US are red states. Republicans love voting against their best interests because they think the poor brown guy who came to the US with jacks#!t is screwing them over. They will vote with the billionaires who do whatever they can to keep them down just to say they are on the same team. Boggles my mind.

Why are you such a bitter person? You think everyone is out to get you. You complain about people on welfare and you complain about people who work for a living because they get better benefits than you. You complain about “socialist” policies that would actually help you. What do you not complain about?

Old age

No, I complain about people who abuse welfare.  Nice try.

Who, talking suits?  Lol. Right.

Bahaha

Why would I need to complain about them?  So many of you already have that covered.  I said before, I don't need to jump into a conversation or start one to agree with people.  There are plenty of people that already do that.

There are about 2 million federal workers. How many career politicians do you think there are? Do you think there are more career politicians than military or postal workers?

That's just another dumb strawman as I never made any such claims.

Wait, is this your "better life"?!?

Sorry if I don't fully trust your assessment, I have trust issues obviously.  But please keep telling me how more government is good, it seems to be flourishing.

Which federal departments are being cut or is it just a 50% reduction in all of them across the board?

There are what, half a million politicians in the US?  If that number was reduced by half, would that not allow for a better flowing government?  Would that not reduce the amount of taxes needed to pay these people?  Would that not speed things up that are needed to fix these mountains of problems?

I think less suits would benefit everyone, not just from a monetary point.

Another strawman as I didn't say more government is good.

Maybe you should reconsider your claim if you can't defend it. As I posted previously, there are reasonable discussions to be had about cutting various parts of the government or budget, but they are nuanced and never as simple as "cut x amount".

How much do you think politicians are making from taxes?

Then have them, why are you wasting your time with little ol' me?

What, are they killing it doing cam shows?  Not too many I'd pay 3.99 a minute to watch.

Or it might do the opposite and create more logjams because there are fewer people available to do the work.

Something to keep in mind is that the vast majority of politicians are local, so they're things like the school board, assessor, public defender, various elected judges, dog catcher, etc.

Who all are you defining as a politician? (edit: just saw RedDenver's stats)

Are there people or areas being represented by a congressperson, senator, city councilperson, etc who should not have elected representation? It would be fun to cut down on any excessive bureaucracy, but where exactly would you start?

Since the vast majority of those half million politicians are local folks on city councils and school boards and such, there is not really a lot of money going around in those jobs. Most are not even full time jobs. In fact most are not jobs at all, they are elected positions where someone gets a small stipend to show up at monthly meetings and vote on the policy du jour, especially in small towns. Cutting down on these positions would not help the taxpayers.
