The last time we didn't know who was going to start was 2010. Didn't know until kickoff, and that turned out to be pretty cool.

But that coach hated the media and the fans. I’m pretty sure he didn’t withhold that info because it was the right thing for the team but as a demonstration of who’s the boss

Ok, you and I are going to do an experiment. Put on your flame suit (I'd give you mine, but it's permanently bonded) and we are going to say nice things about last year's offensive line.

Adjusted sack rate - simply how often a team gets sacked, with adjustments for things like down and distance, opponent, and filters for garbage time.

Nebraska, with Mr Magoo as QB, ranked 8th in the nation in this stat. That's without Decker decoding the offense all year.

Adjusted line yards - a more complex stat that tries to separate the blockers culpability from the runners. Negative plays give more blame to the offensive line while long rushes give less. The idea is long rushes, such as runs of ten yards or more, are less a result of line play than medium rushes because a runner eventually outruns the capacity for the line to block. Negative rushes are considered more a factor of the offensive line as the rusher is more prone to being tackled before he could have an impact. Don't consider it a perfect metric, but it is an interesting way to try to separate this complex relationship.

Nebraska ranked 23rd in adjusted line yards.

You just lost all credibility in the underlined portion, lol. I'm pretty sure there were games where Tanner Lee threw more pick sixes than he was sacked. The old saying take the sack didn't apply to Riley and his staff. We had a pretty much non-existent running game. I like your analysis, but in this case I think you're over analyzing things. I equate successful line play on both sides of the ball to the win/loss column more than anything. I don't look too deep into anything else other than the basic ypc, yac, rush ypg, pass ypg, ppg and vice versa for the defense.

More importantly, I care about winning. If we lose, I want teams to fight and earn it. I don't want to see our team lie down ever again. I think we will see a team that's not afraid to go down swinging, guns blazing, insert your favorite cliche here.

Give me one winning head coach in college football that adores the media.

Friends little brother is at the scrimmage in front of the students.  Said Martinez started and Gebbia came in later fwiw.

It doesn't tell us much but Gebbia did come in immediately afterward with Maurice Washington. All signs and from what I've heard point to AM being the guy they're going with.

Really???  Hmmm. Like what?

There's too much smoke for there not to be fire, imo, but I'm not gonna post every tweet or Huskerboard post I've seen about it. The most recent is that Martinez practiced only with the 1st in front of the students tonight and Gebbia didn't stay after to take photos while Martinez did. By itself it's not enough but combined with seeing several different people saying they've heard Martinez was chosen, and none saying they've heard it's Gebbia, I'm assuming it's Martinez.

We'll find out tomorrow.
