The same could have been said for their foray into Afghanistan. The only thing the Russians have to show for 56 days of their war is untold carnage on both sides, loads of lost military hardware, demoralized and worn-out troops, dead commanders, a sunken flagship, etc., all for a few small gains in the east. I suppose that's the model Russian military campaign so you're probably right. Has throwing untrained and scared conscripts ever worked in the long run? At any rate, at this point they've definitely underperformed when we look back at thinking Kyiv would fall within a week. 1 Link to comment

TGHusker
At least they can be commended for keeping a sense of humor. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/ukraine-names-sunken-russian-warship-moskva-a-national-heritage-site/ar-AAWuGq1?ocid=entnewsntp&cvid=403a5a634d464b6abb42e63b9e4249bf Quote Ukraine has designated the underwater wreckage of the Russian Moskva warship a Ukrainian cultural heritage site, according to its ministry of defense, a week after the heavily armed flagship was sunk by two Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship missiles in the Black Sea, after which Ukraine’s defense minister jokingly called it “one more diving spot.” Key Facts The Russian fleet became number 2,064 in Ukraine’s underwater cultural heritage register, Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense wrote in a Facebook post on Thursday, adding that the “famous cruiser” 80 miles from Odessa, Ukraine can now be “admired.” The move comes a week after U.S. intelligence confirmed Ukraine sunk Russia’s fleet flagship in its biggest wartime loss of a naval ship in decades, which likely led to casualties, according to the Pentagon. Crucial Quote “A ‘flagship’ russian warship is a worthy diving site. We have one more diving spot in the Black Sea now. Will definitely visit the wreck after our victory in the war. BTW, I already have 300 scuba dives,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov joked in a tweet last week after Ukraine sank the ship. Key Background Russia initially denied reports that Ukraine had sank its warship, claiming at first that it was damaged due to a fire that caused an explosion, and later, that it sank due to “stormy sea” conditions, though reports showed mild weather in the Black Sea. A U.S. defense official said the blow to the warship, which had 16 launchers for anti-ship missiles and 64 air-defense missiles, represented a significant setback for Russia. Ukraine’s government made fun of the Russian loss on Twitter, writing “Russian warship, what are you sinking?” The government has used its social media accounts on several occasions to make fun of the Kremlin since the war began, including through memes. The sinking of the Russian warship came as Russia shifted the focus of its invasion to the eastern region of Ukraine, saying this week that it wants to establish “full control” over the Donbas region and southern Ukraine as part of the second phase of its military operation. 1 1 Link to comment
JJ Husker
It’s fun and all to read some of their tweets but dang, there might be a bit too much death and suffering and loss to be making light of some of these things. I guess that’s what you get when you mix war with today’s social media. A bit too little respect for life if you ask me. Link to comment

I was reading last night that the speculation is that he might have thyroid cancer. Supposedly he has a thyroid cancer specialist camped out at his villa in Sochi. Take it for what it's worth. Let's hope it's true and he dies soon. 1 Link to comment
Scarlet
Yeah this is starting to look more and more like either a resistance with Russia setting these or someone's intelligence services playing a part. Of course, I guess you can't rule out faulty wiring after seeing the performance of the Russian military's equipment. 2 Link to comment
