huskerfan74
Saying that our special teams suck is the understatement of the century. In fact, calling them special is an insult to the word. We need to refer to them as our s#!tty unspecial teams until they actually do something special. Don’t even get me started on the useless unspecial teams coach. Quote Link to comment

mwj98
And with all the issues on special teams, offense sputtering, missed tackles, etc. We still almost beat the No. 10 team on the road. The same team that hasn't punted against us in what? 2-3 years? This team will be a threat next year. They already are. 1 Quote Link to comment
Blackshirts007
Lightbourn is truly the definition of special. 1 Quote Link to comment
PaulCrewe
-2 yards in punt return yards(including one costly non catch), 13 yard average on kick returns, blocked punt for a safety and whatever the hell the first kickoff was. I’d say Scott may want to look into this phase of the game a little Quote Link to comment

I think it's totally believable. IMO, good special teams come from team with depth....specifically on Defense. We don't have it. The onside is on it's own. I can't defend that. Quote Link to comment
huskerfan74
The difference between good football teams and great football teams are the special teams. I hope the Huskers one day develop decent special teams. Right now, we have as unspecial teams as they can be. 1 Quote Link to comment

The call or the execution? Quote Link to comment
4skers89
I have more confidence in Dewitt for the following reasons: 1. A lot of the problems I see are the players not executing 2. I don't recall UCF having these kind of special team gaffes 3. Dewitt is smart and when you listen to his interviews whenever he answers a question about special teams it's obvious he has analyzed the problems and knows what needs to happen to fix them. I don't want anyone else coaching special teams. Quote Link to comment

huskerfan74
I am sorry but I am having a very difficult time believeing that Frost asked Lightbourn to onside kick the ball. He is just trying cover for his kicker’s horrible blunder which will be highlighted in ESPN’s not so top 10 plays. Asking Lightbourn to execute an onside kick is like asking a seven year old to dunk a basketball. 1 Quote Link to comment

Come on - there is zero chance that the play was anything except onside kick. the entire left side of the line was attacking to a certain area and at least one if not two were offside. 1 Quote Link to comment
