JoeSakic2019
He has a preliminary hearing on April 10th. Im no lawyer but Im guessing he would enter a plea on that day. It will be up to California if they want to go to trial at a later date. 1 Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
From a Bay Area paper: Maurice Washington III, 19, returned to California and surrendered to authorities, according to Deputy Michael Low, a spokesman for the sheriff’s office. Washington was immediately booked and posted bail, set at $35,000. An April 10 court date has been scheduled. Quote Link to comment

I don't think Mo will receive any jail time, and get probation. As long as he doesn't get into any further trouble he should be ok within the CA legal system. I wouldn't be surprised if Frost suspends him 1 game for his actions and putting the University and football team in a negative light. Quote Link to comment

Reading what Frost said about representing the University on and off the field pretty much assures some team punishment of some sort. Quote Link to comment

I'd be fine if the team punishment was forcing him to run 200 yards per game. 5 3 Quote Link to comment

I hope you’re right but I didn’t see anything in the article to suggest this will happen tomorrow. This is Mo’s first court date so he’ll probably plead not guilty, bail will be determined and his next court date set. Prosecutors are in no rush to agree to a lesser charge. Living in Nebraska is a big disadvantage for Mo. As a college student he has limited funds but the state of CA does not. Also the prosecutor would probably want this to drag out past the summer and into the season. I wouldn’t expect any kind of agreement to a lesser charge until the real trial approaches, possibly the day of. It’s also possible that they might really go after Mo to make an example of how serious they take this new law. If the case is still pending this fall and is getting a lot of attention, Frost may not play him. This isn’t even worst case scenario for Mo. 1 Quote Link to comment

From the article: Quote Nebraska running back Maurice Washington on Wednesday is expected to attend the first of what could be several court hearings in California on criminal charges tied to him allegedly texting a 10-second sex video. At Wednesday's Santa Clara County court appearance — set for 1:30 p.m. California time — Washington will enter a plea and the judge will review his bail amount. Quote Link to comment

knapplc
Friendly reminder that he's scheduled for court today. Quote Maurice Washington to make court appearance on Wednesday Husker running back Maurice Washington is expected to appear in court in Santa Clara County, California today, according to the Omaha World-Herald. This will be the first of multiple expected hearings for his case. The California native is facing charges for the distribution of child pornography and sending “revenge porn,” a crime designated by a 2013 law. Both counts stem from allegedly sending a video containing a sex act to a girl who was 15 at the time. The “revenge porn” charge was created in California to stop individuals from posting a photo or recording of a sexual act without the subject’s consent. The World-Herald reported that at the hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, Washington will enter a plea and review his bail. His bail was previously set at $35,000, which he posted. He was released in early March when he returned to California to turn himself in. Quote Link to comment
