The P&R Plague Thread (Covid-19)

Recommended Posts

These guys make money by running urgent cares in the Bakersfield area.  They are desperate for people to go out and get hurt.  Dr. Erickson isn't doesn't even have an MD and the other guy is an emergency room Dr.

There is a long list of what's wrong with this video.  It's not worth debating, it's junk.

So, then @BlitzFirst, you are saying that if person who specialized in "analyzing statistics" would come up with a totally different conclusion?

They're trying to take statistics from one area in California and extrapolate it for larger regions. That's not a representative sample so it's not helpful. Then they are trying to cherry pick stats from another country or city and use them to prove a point without really diving into customs and normal behaviors in that country. They're also not discussing the differences in testing for those places. These guys are not epidemiologist, they do not study how diseases spread. They study how to treat people.

If you're waiting for two million deaths then you sound willfully ignorant. Those were initial projections from early models of the virus that were based on the assumption of doing nothing to prevent it. They were the best that could be done at the time and models have gotten better since, but again they assumed doing nothing which is not the case.

Can anyone make any sense of this chart and break it down for me?

I can't understand how many deaths we have from Covid.

Our counts often track 1–2 weeks behind other data for a number of reasons: Death certificates take time to be completed.

Yes, I get this.  These charts are so confusing.  Last week the numbers were about ready to surpass 60,000 here on the CDC.  As I read it now, it's back down to 38,000 total deaths ... if I read it correctly.

I have a Masters Degree ... but I can't understand the constant change in numbers and how people who are classified as dead to Covid can come back to life?

2 different charts.  1 doesn't wait for the death certificate to be filed with the federal government...the other does.  but someone with a masters degree should be able to figure that out.....right?

I've followed the same chart ... and the CDC changes their numbers.  Their is far too much at risk to be changing numbers and making educated folks believe they either can't read or need the government to explain basic truth to me.  This is starting to feel like China to me.

If you follow the original link ... it updates every day.  Their stats as of today, are 38,000.

Here is that link ... https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm?fbclid=IwAR1kxq4QkJ_QxiV9GXv3XvbT0nQQYwnSVkZ-NdHMGzAoIcn3-EC678-Gevw

There is also this link on the CDC .. .and these numbers are different ... around 65,000.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/cases-updates/cases-in-us.html?fbclid=IwAR2hC40yxt03rvRR2J1s1V9C8CC-BAdCdEbAxAEmtx69CzuNW8zTILyO97M

I'll keep following this page and hope to understand more.  No need to respond to me ... just posting these two links that seem to contradict each other.

The information is from 2 different sources. The one with the state map is what is reported by each jurisdiction. The other is based on death certificates. There have been lots of stories about how accurate death certificates are. It's likely some states have better ways of tracking cause of death than what is on the death certificate.
