Because the IRS still had Carrie’s USAA account on file, the agency sent the direct deposit there rather than to her new bank account at a different institution. Link to comment
commando
this doesn't smell fishy at all....nope...not at all. ok....it smells like a fish kill. makes me remember trump getting rid of the oversight on this money. https://www.businessinsider.com/fema-paid-bankrupt-company-no-employees-55-million-n95-masks-2020-4?utmSource=twitter&utmContent=referral&utmTerm=topbar&referrer=twitter In this chaotic effort to obtain supplies, the Trump administration awarded a $55 million contract to Panthera Worldwide LLC, a company with no expertise in the world of medical equipment, for N95 masks, The Washington Post reported on Wednesday. Panthera's parent company filed for bankruptcy protection last fall, and one of its owners last year said it'd had no employees since May 2018, The Post reported, citing sworn testimony. It's no longer listed as an LLC in Virginia, where its main office is, after fees went unpaid, the newspaper said. Link to comment

Quote The Post reported that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was paying Panthera about $5.50 per mask, decidedly more than what the government pays companies with an established background in producing medical supplies such as 3M, which charges about $0.63 per mask. Chuck Hagel, a former defense secretary, told The Post something was "amiss" about this order. "This is not how the government procures training or any type of supplies," he said. "You just wouldn't do business with somebody like that." 2 Link to comment

USAA is a non profit bank and shares any profit made with their members at the end of the year. I've been a USAA member since 2000. Thank-you for your service... and, glad they got this snafu straightened out. 1 Link to comment
JJ Husker
Guise....I think I just became a socialist. It looks like I got in just in time for that SBA PPP money. I was worried (still am a bit since I haven't actually received the money yet) when I heard the 349B was already gone but I signed the loan docs this morning so it's looking promising. It would be nice if I didn't have to lay anyone off or cut hours over the next couple of months (or ever). 2 Link to comment
