There is no way I could stand there for an hour if my kid was in there. 

I'm right there with you but looks like the police BOTH prevented parents from trying to save their kids AND did little to nothing to try to stop the shooter for an hour.

That is one way to keep crime rates down.  Just don't catch anyone.
