I’ve also heard he’s going again for the Spring Game

Show him the money!

Saw an article this weekend about Saban saying that the new NIL will simply allow teams to "buy" players. Appeared to be against it for what's it's worth.  Guessing it levels the playing field amongst the "haves"....

Frost hates it too.

I've been in favor of players being able to profit from their NIL although this iteration of it is pretty crazy. Coaches can hate it all they want, same with the transfer portal - but if coaches don't embrace the new landscape of CFB and use it to make their teams better (despite their personal opinions) they'll be doing their programs and themselves a disservice. I'm not sure what rules need to be put in place to make it better, if any, but as Decked has said, most of the successful programs have been paying players anyways - this has just legalized it for everyone.

I'm pretty sure both Alabama (Saban) and Nebraska (Frost) are taking this seriously to try to benefit in recruiting from it.  I have no problem with a coach though expressing their opinions about it though.

Oh I agree. I think Frost has embraced both NIL and the portal with open arms even though he might dislike it personally. That's what I mean - if a coach resists against them, he's going to get left in the dust.

Hopefully after a few years the dust settles and it's actually used how it was intended.  Right now it's just the wild west.

Hard for Alabama to like it when they were basically able to pick and choose whoever they wanted anyway, so this helps other teams a lot more than it helps them.  But coaches know that this is just going to create a whole new set of issues for them to deal with down the road, I don't blame them for not liking it.

People misunderstand Saban when he starts complaining about new trends in cfb. They think he's out of touch and that this is a sign that he's about to lose his edge and dominance.

It's really just a warning. He's essentially saying, "This is bad for the sport. Okay, you wanna do it this way? Fine. I'll beat your a$$ with it better than you could possibly imagine."
