TGHusker
http://athlonsports.com/college-football/which-nebraska-player-x-factor-against-Wisconsin This article has 4 guys being difference makers: RB Newby RB Ozigbo LB Young DT Maurice My prediction is that this will be a game of the trenches and that a breakaway play will happen When DPE returns a punt or catches a slant pass and takes it to the end zone Jones, Gerry, or Williams (wt assist from DL rush) come up wt game breaking interception. 1 Quote Link to comment
Landlord
Cethan Carter will burst into the locker room at halftime, give a rousing emotional speech, and then flip someone end over end into the sideline and win the game for the Eden Hall Warrior JV Team Mighty Ducks! Quote Link to comment
Undone
I'm thinking that the answer might be "Terrell Newby, in the passing game." But more likely, it's Tommy Armstrong as a runner. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lyons in the Sea of Red.
It's going to have to be Tommy. He better wear his track shoes, because he's going to be running for his life. Quote Link to comment
Redux
Someone on defense has to be the difference maker. Keiron Williams was just that against Purdue. Need someone to rattle their QB as often as possible. Quote Link to comment
TGHusker
Yep I lean that way as well. As others have said, Armstrong, as the most visible leader, needs to step up. Play within himself, not get rattled by pressure (those QB scores while under pressure were terrible in the other thread) and make wise plays running and passing. I offense which has frankly been a bit of a let down this year over the expectation they would lead the team, needs to pick up its consistency. The D needs to come fired up with the assumption that the game is on their shoulders. Gerry will be a big part of that. Quote Link to comment
hskrpwr13
Agree with most here about Tommy. Unfair, but this game will come down to his play. I think NU will have to win this through the air. The o-line has decently pass protected where they've failed in run blocking (sans 4th quarters). I expect our defense to play well, assuming they're not gassed in second half if offense doesn't succeed. Quote Link to comment
Redux
Here is something I posted about Tommy on facebook right after he took over for an injured Martinez: Dear Tommy Armstrong, Enjoy all the love you are currently receiving because you will never be as good as Husker fans think you are at this very moment. The only reason you werent thrown under a bus after throwing 3 picks at Purdue is because the defense actually played well. Oh by the way Tommy, you are also responsible for their success or failure for some reason. Next year the second you cost us a game whether it's really your fault or not these fans will turn on you and cry for Johnny Stanton to start over you. Seriously Tommy, enjoy being the backup because once Taylor turns this thing over to you, strap in for some truly awful hate that isnt justified. Sincerely, a fan A lot of it rings true. Here we are during his swan song. For his legacy to be remembered as a truly successful one, besting Wisconsin in Madison would do a lot of good. He already took down Michigan in the Big House, but this win woulf mean way more. He needs to be a General on Saturday. 1 Quote Link to comment
swmohusker
Bruce Read. We can not to lose points or give up points in the Special Teams. Time to earn that 450 and gain an advantage against Wiscy on Sp teams. Defense Bando and Gerry. With how many formations, shifts, and personnels that Wiscy throws at you these 2 need to get us lined up and in a position to be successful pre snap. Offense- TA. On passing downs can he keep his cool and make the open throw or live with a throw away. No forced picks These guys step up we win the game. Quote Link to comment
Nebfanatic
TA needs to stay mistake free but I think DPE will be an X factor. On defense I'd love to see Freedom make an impact Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
Hopefully Gerry doesn't whiff against Wiscy. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
I'm thinking that the answer might be "Terrell Newby, in the passing game." I'm thinking Professor Plum, in the study, with the candlesti-- --wait, wrong game, my bad. Quote Link to comment
