  2. So, this is what the pit of misery looks like. Worse than I imagined.  Dilly Dilly.

This program is on life support.  I really fear for the future no matter who the coach is.  These players are damaged to their core.  They may have a bit more success with a new coach but when the pressure is on they will crumble.  Without Stoltenburg in the middle we looked like a middle school team the 2nd half.

  3. We’re so bad I actually feel sorry for the teams that wasted their time preparing to play us.

  4. Anybody have a Samsung appliance (refrigerator)? Are they any good?

Samsung appliances, when they work, are great and some of the best out there. The problem is with their failure rates from assembly--if you go with a Samsung appliance, get the extended warranty and make sure it covers the store picking up and delivering/replacing at your home.

And I own a 'Fridge (side by side). Works great, but reviews seemed to be either 4/5* or 1* (because of malfunction).

Regarding the black stainless look, currently, it's just a thin covering on the regular stainless steel.  The guy at Lowe's told us that it can scratch pretty easily.  I agree that it looks great at first, but not sure how long it would stay like that.

    4. BIGREDIOWAN

      BIGREDIOWAN

Interesting on it scratching easily, I hadn't heard that, I think it cleans up way easier. I guess only time will tell how it holds up. We also had to buy the whole set because we needed a new stove and dishwasher so we just said screw it and bought the microwave and fridge. Then the dryer went out so we had to buy a new dryer as well. The joy of homeownership! lol

  5. So what time is the press conference scheduled for?

      Dear Numb,

Realizing that things will always get worse does help and seems to be the healthy approach. I believe a few more records in futility will fall in the next 2 weeks. I've found that not watching our players no-show for big games helps and does not require medication. I'll try the new avatar in the meantime and I won't screw it up like @GSG.

Please tell me Mike Riley has an aquarium in his office. That is where the reliable information always comes from. Well there and the Lincoln airport Enterprise car rental desk. We may need to unban someone...

@ZRod Tell them to sweeten the pot. If they toss in a couple all expenses paid 4 week European vacations they might find somebody willing to take them. Might.

Seriously though, I’m sorry Riley & Co have put them in that situation.

I'm mean, they would gladly give them away to someone who really wants to go and can't afford them, but even those people are hard to find now. Sad situation.

We’d get about the same results if we left the players and coaches at home. We’ve got one or two players that seem to care and that’s about it. They’ve lost the team and it wasn’t any better if/when they ever had them.

The chewy chips ahoy was good.  My fav tho was on shaggybevo discussing the new campus statutes of their football greats. Gif's were pretty new and there was some good ones.  Let's just say the facial expressions on the real life statutes really begged to be made fun of.         Also, the online bridal registry of Bobby Petrino's mistress, made public at the same time as the motorcycle crash.  Man people are harsh and hysterical.

To be honest I dozed in and out through the whole game. I didn’t see much of it, just enough to know it’s not a brand of football I like.

      chamrocck

Agree. There are so many other games going on that are good to watch.  I did watch this one in its entirety because I expected it to be close and it was.  Really interested to see how we'd fight in OT and defense tried to make a stand but after that offense came out hopeless.  Next weekend I have plans and am not concerned about missing the game.  Usually have to plan around the game but not anymore this season.

Yeah well, I will someday but for now (my daughter's senior year) I am done with this coach costing us games. Wish the season would've been over a couple weeks ago. He makes the stupidest lineups and substitions. He always finds a way to keep our best players off the floor. Nice guy but this ain't rec ball. Play to win!

If you couldn't tell, our first match didn't go well.

It was great. Of course it was still Shakespeare with "that" dialog (which I don't particularly care for) but the actors, set, lighting, music, costumes were awesome. I liked it much better than a traditional rendering. Our high school puts on excellent plays.

  18. Not too shabby. My natural gas water heater crapped out today. Less than 3.5 hours later got the new one installed and running.

    1. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

That includes the time to go pick one up at Lowe’s and make another trip to Ace for the dielectric unions because why would Lowe’s have any of those.

    2. 4skers89

      4skers89

When I replaced mine the piping and gas lines were the same height and spacing which made installation easy.

    3. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

Yeah, I got lucky that way also this time. I did have to sweat two new unions on but didn’t have to adjust any piping. Nice. The flexible gas connection just barely made it. The new gas inlet was quite a bit lower than the old one. I think I’ll replace it with a longer one just to give it a little slack.

  23. Funny story...

My wife is talking to her mom in Nebraska on the phone moments ago. They're discussin tonight's game and have been talking football. Then my wife asks her if Riley is napping. My daughter and I both bust out laughing.....we have a nephew named Riley who is at grandma's house. I had to explain why we were laughing to my wife.

    4. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

@ZRod I think it was about 5.5 hours. The thermometers on my home built smoker aren’t very reliable but I think the smoker temp was kept about 180 to 200. For Christmas I got a Thermopen MK4 thermometer. That thing is the sh#t, I can’t recommend it highly enough. Instant read and 1/2 a degree accuracy. I’ve been relying on it and pretty much ignoring cook time. 130 and it was medium rare. It’s really handy for cooking chicken since getting it to 170 is critical for food safety. No more dried out over cooked chicken or pink that needs to go back. I still prefer eating undercooked medium hamburgers but my wife has to have hers done so it’s handy for grilling just about everthing. I learned about them on AmazingRibs.com. Everyone should have one.
