  1. Drew Brown just kicked a field goal for the East in the East-West Shrine Bowl.  He and Kalu are on opposite teams!

No kidding!  But he just kicked a beauty of an extra point! GBR!

I was surprised that J.T. Barrett was in this type of game.  Doesnt strike me as an NFL QB at all.  What little i saw of his time in there, he was a clunker.

    4. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

I agree.  He did NOT have a good game!  There was a running back in there, Lawry (sp?) from Old Dominion!  Wow!  That kid could move!  He reminded me of Roy Helu!!

  2. Nebraska putting ing the hurt on Michigan!  63-46!!!

The Huskers frustrated Mich in so many ways last night it was crazy to watch.

      ladyhawke

That was such an exciting game to watch!  Michigan didn't know what hit them!  They played such smart basketball.  I just hope they can continue to play that way.

  3. Way to come back Nebraska! Tied w/Penn St. and going into overtime!!

Luckily we tied it up so we could show everyone our great execution of set plays.

I was impressed that they didn't give up. Why they passed it to Watson, though, is beyond me!  He choked tonight!

This is starting to overshadow the phenomenal season that UCF had and is quite sad. They will be remembered/mocked more so for how they handled the situation.

    2. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

I don’t think so. Many people agree with this sentiment on a national level. When I listened to Nick Bahe yesterday he said that talk about UCF’s season and the changes that need to happen in the playoff system overshadowed the National Championship game.  People are fed up with having to watch the SEC in the finals year after year.

  4. Hey guys, did Scott ever name his baby?  I saw an adorable picture of him holding his baby on Facebook via Bug Red Today.  Just curious.

  5. Rumor has it that Jon Gruden is going to coach for the Las Vegas Raiders AND there is even scuttlebutt around saying that the Indianapolis Colts may be tapping Jim Harbaugh to leave Michigan and come coach for them in the NFL?  Anyone else hear this?

The Raiders have one more year in Oakland.  They don't start playing in Las Vegas until 2019.

    3. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

Didn’t Gruden coach them before? (Raiders)

    4. ColoradoHusk

      ColoradoHusk

Yep, Gruden was head coach with the Raiders from 1998-2001.  He was then "traded" to the Buccaneers where he was coach from 2002-2008.  He defeated our very own Bill Callahan with in the Super Bowl following the 2002 season.

Actually, I would make them #2. If Alabama or Georgia wanted that they maybe shouldn't have lost any games, and either one can still get #1.

    3. Enhance

      Enhance

The CFP committee has been pretty consistent - UCF didn't play a tough enough schedule and is being penalized for it. I think they have a point but only to a degree.

I don't think it's wholly fair and a system should be in place that would allow a team like UCF to compete for a title. There just should be. That said, should an undefeated team that played the 54th strongest schedule get a spot over say a one loss team with the 6th tough schedule? I think that's dicey.

    4. zoogs

      zoogs

Yeah, I just feel like they got penalized enough by missing out on the playoffs. Then they played a pretty legit team on New Year's. SEC. Beat both MNC finalists, right? Supposedly they were going to get creamed, finally. And they didn't just show they belonged, they beat Auburn. #2 is the only fitting consolation I think. It doesn't actually mean anything. If other teams feel like they deserved it more maybe they should have avoided losing games. If we all want this to be more clear in the future than don't have a 4 team playoff.

  6. Hey Mods, what's going on with this board?  Anything we can do to help?  It won't let me share a link on the status updates.

  7. I was disappointed that the perfect B1G bowl wins was ended by Michigan’s loss. Man!  The one team I thought could pull off a win choked in the second half. Someone is overrated! JH

      darkhorse85

In the eyes of an Ohio State of MSU fan the Big Ten did have a perfect bowl season.   But yeah, I imagine Harbaugh's seat is starting to warm a bit.

    3. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

A reporter asked Harbaugh after the game that  given there will be coaching openings in the NFL would this be his last game coaching at Michigan. Harbaugh said, ‘No.’. Interesting. We’ll see. I wonder about Harbaugh and especially Urban Meyer. I could see Meyer bowing out.

I’m not sure what quantifications you are looking for. I said I am probably in the minority because I think there are a lot of posters on this board that care how well the Big Ten teams do, especially in bowl games. Myself, I really don’t care. I’m not openly rooting for many other teams other than Nebraska, unless those games have a DIRECT correlation on where NU will end up in a given season. As it currently stands, Nebraska had a super s#!tty season, so I could give 2 s#!ts about how well the conference does during bowl season. All the games are having an INDIRECT impact on Nebraska.

    3. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

You said: “Caring about how other teams in the conference do is something that fans of losing teams do.“. How so? Nebraska was a losing team this year but that hasn’t always been the case. Other folks on this board root for other teams in our conference-so are you calling us losers?

I just like to watch football period. I will always root for a B1G team playing against a team not in our conference. I also root for old Big 8 teams. I will never root for Texas or Notre Dame.

    4. RedDenver

      RedDenver

@ColoradoHusk, I root for ever B1G team except the Huskers to lose unless they're playing the SEC, then I root for the SEC to lose. If every single team but the Huskers lost every game, I'd be cool with that. I don't give a crap about the conference or who thinks which conference is the best or whatever.

  11. Towards the end of the MSU game the announcers were talking about how exciting it was going to be to have ScottFrost coaching Nebraska next year! It's so nice to hear Nebraska spoken of in a positive light again! GBR!

I can't remember what game it was, but an announcer was saying  something to the effect. that they couldn't wait until Nebraska was back where it belonged-up in the top 10 again.  They said that when Nebraska football is at its best it helps college football overall.  I agree.  (Moiraine-noble effort!  I like Frostion! :)  I don't know about anyone else but I enjoy the Canadian sitcom, 'Corner Gas'.  It's about a small town called 'Dog River'.  Anyway, in one of their episodes two of the characters were getting ready to play a trivia game.  One of the characters said, 'Ok, get frosty.'  which meant get ready to play to win.  So to the Big Red I say-GET FROSTY!!!)

    3. ColoradoHusk

      ColoradoHusk

@ladyhawke I think the Michigan State-Washington State game was on FOX, so the color commentator would have been Joel Klatt.  I think Klatt is the best analyst announcer in the game.  He's a former Colorado QB under Gary Barnett who knows his stuff.

    4. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

ColoradoHusk, glad someone else heard that too!  Klatt is good and always seems to have a good word for Nebraska.

  12. B1G doing pretty well so far. Iowa won and Purdue is playing well.

    1. teachercd

      teachercd

Amazing that Purdue gets a competent coach and they go 7-6...with a real chance to have ended up with 9 wins.

    2. ladyhawke

      ladyhawke

I thought the same thing! Here we beat them and we can't even muster up 6 wins. I am SO looking forward to the 2018 football season!

  13. I was so happy for K-State winning their bowl game last night. That sophomore quarterback they have is really going to be good. Fun game to watch. It will be fun for us having a duel threat quarterback next year!

8 turnovers for Bohl's squad - incredible.  They would have likely won easily without them, too.

  17. What an incredible crock of crap!!  Poor Dana Altman. The NCAA has much too much time in their hands. I'm glad Oregon is fighting this!  http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/story/_/id/21841145/oregon-disagrees-level-infraction-assigned-ncaa-some-violations

I loathe DA. Hated him ever since went to camp at CU and treated us small town teams like s#!t. POS in my book. Which was weird considering hes from a small town. But a big ego can do that to you.

  18. Favorite Christmas movie?  I love the original 'Miracle on 34th St.' with Maureen O'Hara but my all time favorite is one they never show anymore. It's called 'A Christmas Story' by Truman Capote. It's a story told by Capote when he was a child. I can watch it on YouTube. The music score makes the film. The late Geraldine Paige stars. What is your favorite Christmas movie?
