  1. Just putting it out there, but, should 2015 go bad, we're talking burn it down, 3-9 kind of bad, what happens to the new staff? Could SE survive one year and then get kicked out after 2016?

Just the tip, see what it feels like.

Not going 3-9. Nebraska will get at least 8 wins next year, just on talent alone. And now that we have competent coaches, that should add 1-2 more wins. I'm calling it, 9 or 10 wins next year.

  2. Mike Riley is easily the most experienced HC we have had since TO. Do with that what you will.

    1. C N Red

      C N Red

Actually since Devaney. He was the last coach we hired who had at least some HC experience before he became our HC. Cally had 1 year with Raiders, Devaney was Wyoming HC for 4-5 years. TO, Solich, and Bo had no HC experience.

      tmfr15

You are right. I just meant since T.O. left. Obviously he shed his rookie status by year 25. But I get what you are saying.

  3. When will TO weigh in on all of this? If he says nothing, doesn't that tell us he doesn't support it? But if he talks, people will just read into it what they want. Thoughts?

This is the same man who used to tell us that Western Central College of Wahoo was a really good team that would give us a challenge if we didn't take them seriously.

Then we'd curb-stomp them by 40 points and he'd praise how well they played at the post-game presser.

I'm with teach on this. Great guy and all, but it really doesn't matter what he says anymore.

  4. As a Husker fan, I am into defense and recall with great joy the option game of the 1990s. However, when I play NCAA, I run the spread offense and use the feature of the game that allows me to skip defensive possesions. Strange? Because I sure think so.

    1. tmfr15

      tmfr15

and we are talking pass happy spread. Not read option stuff. Think fun and gun.

I like an up the middle and cut to the outside run attack with 1/3 PA pass and downfield passes. Defensively i like alot of coverage that I can switch into a blitz presnap.

I pretty much just run 95% of the time.

  5. Changes? Bo is adjusting and making changes all the time. Anyone who doesn't think so is being assinine. Of course would take the time to walk us through all of these changes, but its probably over our heads. Good to know.

Sounds like a common cop out people use when they don't know what they're talking about.

  6. What is the deal with Adam Taylor? I know that he got hurt in the lead up to the season, but I thought he would be available by now. Are they going to hold out for a medical red shirt even though he has already had his regular red shirt?

Hustler jock is correct. The knee was a high school injury.

    4. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

He broke his ankle and initially it was said he could be back in 6 weeks. About a month ago there was a statement that said he would be out for the year.

  7. The other BIG games on Saturday might be interesting to watch, Ohio State vs. Minn being one of those contests. But at the end of the day, I don't care. I want a BIG title and will take whatever bowl comes with it, be it playoff or not.

    1. VectorVictor

      VectorVictor

I think there's a good chance Minny upends tOSU.

And if it happens, we can kiss the playoffs goodbye.

  8. ESPN... Dang it. I thought the cable company was telling me I had ESP. Disappointed Kevin Sorbo style!

  10. Just offering a clarification on my comments about Jason Peter. I am not saying he is wrong. And I am not saying he is 100 percent right. And I am not offended. But it seems that if all his points are true, then it seems almost impossible to fix in season and we should thus prepare for a bumpy ride from here on out..

I am trust me. It's obvious there are still mentality issues, and the injuries are piling up *AGAIN*. Same ole, same ole.

I feel you Count. I am more inclined to prepare for turbulence as well. At the same time, I want to believe it's different this go around.

    3. Chaddyboxer

      Chaddyboxer

The talent and leadership is different....same coaches. Like I've stated before, if the team goes 11-1 predicates more on the coaches now IMO.

  11. Bring on Friday night ... cause Thursday was gooood

  12. Maybe it's just the shell shock talking, but it's reall hard for me to go all N for a Husker win on Saturday. I am thinkng we get beat and possibly even in a lopsided game. I am probably just guarding against disappoointment, but the doubts are definitely there. Anybody feeling the same?

If we beat Miami AND Michigan St, the letdown loss will be to Northwestern and/or Rutgers.

    3. tmfr15

      tmfr15

The equalizer and the thing I worry about most is.... turnovers. We haven't forced them against some bad competition and TA has shown a tendency to throw first and look for defenders second.

    4. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

Gut feeling is we win by less than 2 scores but my gut feelings for this team aren't worth sh#t. Would not be surprised if we blow them out (well....that might be a little surprising) or if we get blown out. Anything is possible, I guess that's why I'll watch the game.

  13. Nebraska beats Fresno State easily. Take it to the bank!

  14. No matter how frustrated I get during a partciular Husker football season, mid-July comes around, and I am excited all over again. Dang it. Why do I do this to myself? #DistructiveBehavior

It's back! Some of the other team names are different now. Heh.

  17. Spring game tickets. Oh yea. I got to do that at some point. Hopefully there will be some left when I do. GBR!

  18. That KC game was something else today. I am not a KC fan by any means, but I am a football fan and I know how badly I would feel if my team did what KC did today. Hard to think this way right now, but KC fans should be proud of the season they had and they should feel hopeful for the future.

    1. Foppa

      Foppa

The chefs should've lost 472-0, and that would've been better. The only hope I want them to have is the hope they never win another game and they get rid of the team. I only feel sorry for chefs fans that they feel compelled to like that team.

    2. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

Not sure who from KC or who from the Chiefs organization pizzed in your Wheaties. I'm not a huge NFL fan but I do pull for the two teams closest to me like KC and Denver. Didn't get to watch the game after the first quarter as I was busy playing with grandkids then traveling home. Hated to see that KC fell face first vs Indy.

    3. True2tRA

      True2tRA

They had a good season. Funny thing is all the Chiefs fans I know and work with, they are still bitching this season. It's why I can't stand Chefs fans. Most of em' don't even realize what a completely different team they looked like in just one year. Of course, can't blame y'all if that meltdown lingers a bit. That was bad. Kind of how I felt after the Rahim Moore play against Balty last year.

  19. Remember when Nebraska played in the Orange Bowl. Good memories.

Nebraska has a losing record in Orange Bowl games.

  20. Bill O'Brien, right or wrong, has basically told PSU fans to stick it because of the way he's been treated. There was no need to go hunting for a secret tape. He made a statement on the subject. And he is behing praised for his position. Thoughts?

He told a "portion" of PSU fans. Much like Bo told a "portion" of Husker fans. More power to them both.

    3. Junior

      Junior

A key difference being that O'Brien is leaving PSU and Bo is saying "no, no I didn't really mean it!"

      TAKODA

Sounds like they have a good idea who the front runners are to replace him.

  21. Getting closer and closer to kick. And, despite all my protests about the season... I can't wait for the game. It's a freaking disease. I could not distance myself from this team if my very life depended on it. GBR

    1. HuskerNationNick

      HuskerNationNick

Truth! Closer we get, the more excited I get. This game, could be a great thing for Nebraska if they win!
