Trying to shake the feeling but I feel detached from this coaching staff
-
It's the same feeling I've had when the neighbor family that mine had a lot in common with lost their job and took another one out of state. Now a new family moves in and while they are cordial, we haven't had enough life experiences to become friends with yet. They seem nice but it's going to take time. Coaching at Nebraska has become musical chairs for too long.
-
Really hoping Joseph takes the reins and doesn't look back. Rooting for him to be our next coach.
-
If we get the right coach, would love to see Casey, Grant, Washington, and Palmer return next year, team them with Fidone and we may have a monster offense. Also think it'll help their draft prospects. Don't see any of them getting drafted high with our record this season.
-
Explaining to your colleagues at work that Northwestern is sometimes good, is a pain no Husker should endure.
-
How many wins does Frost need for you to feel comfortable bringing him back next year?
For me 9 wins starts the convo.
-
Does the instability in Ukraine/Europe alter anyone's plans on the Ireland game?
-
Forgot that the championship game was on tonight. Never thought that would happen, but now I see it, I don't really care to watch it.

@ZRod I agree. My attitude was slightly better. Still not an ideal situation,
-
I also forgot all about it. I got home from my daughter's BB practice and was just messing on my phone and happened to see a halftime update. I thought, "That's right! I'll watch."
I watched the 3rd quarter and went to bed. Wasn't worth staying up for me. I know it was a good game, I just realized I didn't care at that point.
-
@SECHusker Yeah I totally understand, just giving you a hard time lol. Pretty sure the vibe everywhere is that the Alabama Championship Game is getting tiring. And typically we see the playoffs having the usual suspects - Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, OU, or another SEC team. So the excitement is getting dull. And I agree with @ZRod that you really shouldn't be in the playoffs without winning your conference. But as I watched the season, Georgia really was the best team all year, and the slightly better team in the national title game too.

Just had Wendy's new fries, and dare I say they were better than McDonald's average fries. Granted when McDonald's fries are done right, there may be nothing better...Except maybe Chick-fil-A's fries.
-
Do you watch less CFB when we have a bad season?
-
If Frost losses against NW does he get fired after the game?
-
Just watched Frost's presser for Fordham where he keeps saying we can't survive penalties/dumb plays, and to a certain extent that is true; but if his offense knew how to consistently put up points some of that former would be a moot point.

Really don't understand this blind loyalty to Frost. This fairy tale, turned horror story must end.
-
I dont think its loyalty, im tired of the on field crap play and im ashamed at the off field antics. Just play good football and you win this game. Period. It doesnt need to be Ohio St football just good fu**&^* football and you win. Win the ones you should until you can recruit to beat the ones you shouldnt. But well never get there when we sh(* the bed every @#%@#$^@#$!@#$!@#$^%@#$!@#$!@#%!% weekend.

Regardless of Frost's story as a head coach here, whether it's a good ending or a bad ending, I hope enough people are able to differentiate what he did as a player from what he did as a coach. Those are two very different things, and even if he ultimately fails as a head coach, so long as he did enough things with dignity and carried himself with professionalism... then it is what it is and I won't fault the guy. There's no denying he worked his a$$ off as head coach here.
-
What blind loyalty? Any coach had to be given this much time. Unfortunately we now know how this story will end. But you cannot, do not fire a new HC before year 4 game 1. We’re stuck for this season. It is what it is. There is no blind loyalty to bemoan. I don’t think there are but maybe 100 people that don’t realize it is over. You can’t expect people’s hopes to expire at exactly the same time.

Feel good we can score 30+ on Illini, and confident we can hold them to less than 20.
-
Didn't know any of this before, but was a great analysis of how we fell from grace.

Nebraska had a high number of "partial qualifiers" thrive and graduate. Many kids with poor grades were ADD and schools didn't understand that those kids did not learn like a typical student. Classes with long boring lectures were hell. I know because my middle son had/has ADD. Jared Tomich was a partial qualifier and made it through college because Nebraska designed ways to help him and others learn in ways they could not in high school. Texas and the rest of the Big 12 wanted those kids stashed in junior colleges where they were never going to learn adequately.

A lot of respect for Naomi Osaka. More emphasis needs to be placed on mental health. Hopefully she wins her battle.
-
I'm half and half on this. What happened to her in her grandslam win was absolutely awful; and a disgraceful display by the fans and Serena. That said, athletes need to be mentally tough. That's a huge part of sports some people just aren't cut out for that. None of us like public speaking, but you've gotta face your fears and get your job done.

Shameful and pathetic:
-
First, the coaches doing this drill with kids this age is wrong and shameful. It's just dumb.
Second, they should teach the running back to not lower his head and use his helmet as a weapon against an on-coming tackler. If that ball carrier continues to do that in the long-run, he's going to be susceptible for a spinal injury and concussions.
Third, I saw this put on Twitter and there were plenty of responses defending this type of drill. That's what really is disturbing.
-
Watching NW beating OSU by running the ball and short and intermediate passing is upsetting. Why can't Frost get out of his own way and do the same?
-
Curious if the sentiment around the program would be less negative, if we hadn't been so adamant about playing
-
Frost needs to make some changes to his offensive staff.
-
Keep expecting to come on here and see that Frost has been relieved of duties

At this stage, I would not renew or extend anything with Scott. Yet, Scott will get an extension in a year that won't make sense but will justify Moos' choice of him. Probably 2024. It's just the way it works. Then the alumni will need to pay off millions for 3-5 more years after he is gone. I'm like B.B., I want it to work ... But this looks to be the trend.
-
This conversation frustrates me...
Those whom can't see the changes are blinded by hate or just plain angry people!
Watch interviews of Frostie's players and compare them to interviews of previous staff players.
Also, how many of you eternal complainers actually listen to real experts (though you make think you are, you're not). Be a fan, accept the truth, be patient and rather than looking for the negatives, look instead for the positives. Remember also, Duval literally had to teach basic lifting and weight training in the beginning. The time is coming when we'll look back at this and for those knucklehead haters, we positive minded will remember!!
It's coming, slower than I'd like but it's coming and I'm excited for the future!!!!

Weird, I know we got outscored, but it doesn't feel like we got beaten up. Kinda like watching a boxer who just wants to outpoint his opponent to win, rather than go for the KO.
